Western just announced that the whole next year is going to be online.. feeling that most schools may do this.

Will anyone be deferring/planning to attend the next year instead because of this?

Where did you see that? The most recent update I received was from May 29 and they said they are hoping to do a hybrid approach with 20-30% of courses having a in-class experience and it will differ depending on course selection, program, and year of study, and further details will be shared during the registration process.

  2. I also received a waitlist offer for the Part-Time Online Advanced Standing MSW starting in September at WLU but have declined as well to pursue an offer elsewhere! Just to give people a piece of mind that offers are rolling out and there are 43 spots on the waitlist!

First time posting. Really appreciated reading through all of your posts.

I'm feeling quite nervous and silly now for applying to MSW so late in the year— but the deadline is May 1st.

Has anyone heard back from UWIN 16 month Advance Standing (w BSW)? I just sent in my application, it seems as though I should expect a wait list? Or has one been started?

    Thank you for your time!

I submitted my application on February 24 and received an offer of admission March 31! I declined my offer as I also got accepted to Kings program!

I know some people who are thinking of deferring too. It will be a really hard time to find houses/jobs during this time so the economic side of things is looking a lot tougher. Working for another year honestly never hurt.

My biggest worry with deferring is the possibility of not being accepted next year because you would likely have to reapply correct? And you would be going up against a different applicant pool so there is no guarantee you would be accepted!

And you only found out last week? Were you waitlisted before?

I found out I was waitlisted there at the beginning of March so I’m a bit confused.

I wasn't waitlisted but yes just found out last week so not entirely sure how it works!!

  6. First time posting but just wanted to write that if you haven't been accepted yet, don't be too upset. I have applied every year since I graduated with my BSW in April 2017 and have been rejected numerous times until this year. Your time will come :)  I was originally waitlisted by UWO on March 12 but then on March 26 I got an email saying I have been accepted into the program. I also got accepted to the Laurier September 2020 On-Campus program as well as UWindsor's Working Professionals Program. I am stuck between Laurier and Kings. Does anyone have knowledge on comparing the programs on what might be a better fit? Ideally I would like a hospital placement but am open to anything in the community as I love community-based social work and have been working in the field since August 2017. Based on location, Kings would be the more practical choice, but I would like to know more about the Laurier program to make a more informed decision if anyone has any info that might be helpful :)
