Thank you!
My marks were honestly not ideal but the rest of my application made up for it. CGPA: 2.7 L2: 3.4, two years RAship, bunch of extracurriculars and paid jobs on campus and the legislature. My letter of recommendations were strong as well. I did graduate in 2017 though - got in the OPS right away and have been in two different roles so far.
I was accepted into Waterloo's MPS and oddly rejected by Ryerson lol. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to answer! Can I ask if you don't mind, did you happen to have a professional letter of recommendation since you have relevant experience anyways, or were they all academic? I'm hoping to apply to this program soon as well!

Hey, if you don't mind, can you share your stats for getting into Concordia?

Last two years GPA: 91.04%
Overall GPA: 84.34%
HBASc in Criminology, BA in Psychology, Certificate in Global Entrepreneurship.
Accepted sometime in February-March.
Applied to UofT, Queens, and Carleton
Are the last two years more important than your overall GPA? What else would you say made your application stand out?

Hi everyone,
I was looking for some help on figuring this out: I want to do a post-grad certificate before moving onto my Masters (I want to do it in Government Relations at a local college). I'm in third year at the moment. I mainly want to build connections there and do well, and hopefully network+ ask for references from profs I encounter. However, I'm not sure if letters of recommendation from most programs around the country/in Ontario would allow an academic reference not from undergrad is my issue. I'm looking into different types of programs: MPP, MPA, MBA etc and would love to know if anyone has any advice. I do not necessarily want to do a fifth year at my university because I don't want to take out more student loans for the same degree. Hope everyone is doing well.
