Re: Wisc Madison. I don't think they typically interview. None of the grad students that I talked to mentioned having done one. Before applying, though, I contacted a few profs via email and spoke with them over Zoom to chat about ideas and confirm fit.

Likewise interested if human or physical geog... do you think they interview everyone?

Congrats on the interview! Had you previously chatted with any of your POIs? I haven't heard anything this week, but I did have a couple Zoom sessions back in the fall with my target advisor... wondering if those had any bearing on interview decisions, or if it's a bit of wishful thinking.
