This was me. It was my top choice, so I'm happy it wasn't a rejection, and will hold out a little hope! Anyone know how long waitlists tend to be? For everyone waiting, the letter heavily implied that (at least some) offers have already gone out. Also for those asking, my specialism was not ethnomusicology.
Thanks for the update. Do you have maybe some information about the DMA in composition? Have they also sent some offers laready? I applied and haven't heard from them so far

Has anybody heard any news about PhD composition programs? LOL, it seems like I am the only composer here...I haven't heard anything yet from my schools

Phd/DMA Composiiton here:)...It is so quite here this year...Do you think the current Covid-19 situation will affect the acceptance results? I applied also last year. Unfortuantely, some programs didn't accept anybody, and some of the programs that accepted applicants took 2 out 4...I hope this year is different.

Thanks! Yes that was me. It was contact about switching to the DMA and recommendation for acceptance in that degree. They seem to have updated the info on the website about what the difference is and it has to do with the dissertation and if the focus is on composing or kind of research in methods. I'd recommend looking at the website. No interview.
Great. I will check it out...thank you

Accepted to McGill Composition DMA! Good luck on the waiting this week, I know February felt about four months long waiting to hear back...waiting on one more and a waitlist...
Congrats!!! I am happy for you:) I saw someone posted on the results page that he applied for a PhD and was admitted to DMA. Was it you? I am asking since I also applied for a PhD but haven't heard from McGill yet...Did you had an interview? And, what is the major difference from PhD and DMA at McGill? Good luck and congrats again....

Congratulations. No news could be good news. Rejected from UW and UCSD in Composition. Probably a different timeline
Hey there, sorry to hear about your rejections (I also received some already...). I also applied to UCSD for Composition (Computer Music) and haven't heard back yet, I am wondering if I'm still in the game...when did you receive the rejection from them? Thanks

A wild NYU Waitlist appears ?

My advisor said not to contact them until decisions were released. I might request feedback from a few after the fact (assuming I will be rejected, of course).
I actually sent emails (yesterday) to the schools I'm still waiting to hear from...Brandeis (composition PhD) is one of them. I don't think it is bad at the point (end of Feb' almost...) to contact schools for a status update.

Results page from previous years suggests Eastman results around beginning of March.
There are some UCSD rejections already on the results page so who knows.
Thanks, I hope I'm still in the game:)

Anyone heard back from composition (PhD) at UCSD, UC Irvine, Eastman, and CalArts? I had interviews with Eastman and UC Irvine at the begining of Feb', haven't heard back yet...
-
Hey, I have an interview with Eastman for a PhD in Composition. Has anybody already had such an interview? What to expect? Good luck to all...
