TL;DR Accepted the offer from UT Dallas for the Arts, Technology and Emerging Communications PhD program. Hello everyone, I also wanted to post an update since I took help from many others here. I had applied to the GA Tech Digital Media PhD program, and after being waitlisted for PhD I received my admission letter into the "Master's" program, which didn't feel desirable. I talked to the Admissions Coordinator and she didn't seem encouraging regarding securing funding for MS, which I know is harder to get than PhD. I naturally declined the offer. I got admitted to the Media Arts and Sciences program at Arizona State, which was my top choice, however, I found out from Admissions that although they never admit students without funding, this year is an exception and they couldn't fund any students. I talked to the professors of my research interest, and one of them spoke very encouraging and said he would definitely try to figure out something, but it didn't pan out. Lastly, I got rejections from MIT's Media Lab and UCSB's Media Arts Technology program. Good luck everyone and let me know if I can help with anything

I haven't been told about a waitlist for funding. Just my admit letter with no info in it. I sent emails to Admissions Coordinator but haven't heard yet. From your previous posts, I saw that you are waitlisted for funding. May I ask how you found out about that? Was it specified in your admissions letter or was this information forwarded to you after your admission?

Yes, I believe that's me! Thanks so much ^.^ It's great news but I am not seeing any clarification re: funding from their side. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon. Meanwhile, still no news from GA Tech

Looking for any info regarding how Arizona State University makes funding decisions! I finally got the admit letter to the Media Sciences program, however, it does not state anything about tuition remission or TA/RAships. Does anybody have info regarding in which timeframe the school makes these decisions?

Yeah same. Hopefully it's the last day! And they'll announce tomorrow. I still have two other schools with the same radio silence. I honestly don't know what's up with all these schools.

Just heard back from admin that the results will come out on April 1st

Hey i contacted the professor I had an interview with and he advised me to contact the DM admin, which I did afterwards, but no word so far. It’s alarming to hear someone got waitlisted though. Is it for PhD?

Standing by for the same! Although I don't have any idea when they would announce the results. I saw somewhere the date March 13, but we're beyond that already. I'm hoping it'll be this week.

Just wanted to share my application statuses so far: - UT Dallas Arts Technology Emerging Communication: accepted with funding - MIT Media Lab: rejected - ASU Media Arts and Sciences: N/A - Georgia Tech: had an interview on 2/22 - UCSB Media Arts Technology: N/A but they say results will be announced early March. If anyone applied to a similar program at ASU and heard back I'd love to hear since it's my top choice!

I applied to Responsive Environments, Future Sketches, and Tangible Media. I guess TM is out of options since they already sent out interview requests last week, as I'm seeing on this thread. Can anybody tell me how/from where you are seeing your portfolio got visited?
