Hi,
I have received offers from both Computational Biology MS from Carnegie Mellon and MS in Machine Learning and Data Science from UCSD. Both are top programs but CMU is #1 literally in CS, AI, and Comp Bio overall (csrankings.org, USNews). Ofc UCSD is still top 10/15 or even top 5 in certain areas, and the program is only at most 1 year which is nice, while CMU is almost 2 years. Also, pitssburgh's weather looks pretty bad.
I'm aiming for a career path in being an Applied Scientist/Researcher in Machine Learning domains like Genomics/Brain Machine Interfaces, very intersectional. CMU Comp Bio will obviously provide me that bio training, but I also want to at least focus 70% of time on ML (just in case I want to change domains to something outside of bio).
