Hi! have you already taken the French proficiency test or are you waiting to hear if you've been accepted first?

I also have FSL as one my teachables. According to this link, only those who are either "Primary/Junior Teacher candidates studying in the Master of Teaching or Master of Arts, Child Study and Education who intend to take the FSL Part 1 Additional Qualification" or "conditionally accepted Master of Teaching candidates with French as a Second Language teaching subject (i.e. your offer of admission is conditional upon satisfactory completion of the OISE Proficiency Test in French)" can take the test. I don't think you can take the test before you get an offer.

    Hi friend! Thank you!

    Stream: PJ

Gpa: Im currently in 4th year so I applied with my 3rd year marks which was a B-average. But I emailed admissions my updated transcript in January for my last semester because I had an A-average. I'm not sure if they took it into consideration though.

Experience: 1800+ hours with classroom experience.

However I was told that oise accepts students based on 50% gpa and 50% exp + letter of intent. The letter of intent is so so important and if you have a super strong letter and talk about uoft/oise's values and include them into your own values - they love that stuff. Hope that answers all your questions!!

Thankyou very much for your response. I'm also in fourth year. I applied to the IS stream. My GPA also improved during the Fall 2020 semester. I'm wondering if I should send in my updated transcript since my application is still under review. Did you receive a response from OISE once you sent your updated transcript?

  3. When I emailed admissions, they replied with the following:

Thank you for your interest in graduate studies at OISE.

Notification of results are provided to applicants via the online admissions application. We start uploading letters in early March and continue into March, April, and sometimes later months. If you submit a complete application by November 16, you should receive a decision sometime in March. If you submit an application after November 16, decisions are available within three to six weeks of application submission, but no sooner than early March.

Hi all! I applied to MT again for 2021 September, all divisions, after being waitlisted and never admitted last year. I'm a U of T graduate of Indigenous Studies and Geography, with various youth work, tutoring, and school-based experience. My GPA is probably just at the B+ mark now.

However last year I applied way later in April. I took another course in the Fall semester to up my GPA and took an additional tutoring position to up my appeal. I'm really hoping I can finally make it. This will be my third year trying for teaching programs around Toronto. I've been waitlisted/rejected from several programs. It's so competitive.

Good luck to everyone, I hope we hear back soon!

Hey! I also applied with a similar GPA to the I/S stream. I have diverse experiences working with children. Which program were you waitlisted/rejected to? Goodluck everyone!
