It’s been a brutal process. I have one acceptance with funding still pending. I was rejected from 3 programs. I am still waiting to hear from 3 programs (Virginia, Cornell, Irvine). Should I assume those will be rejections? I have seen acceptances and rejections from all but Irvine. Any guidance is appreciated!

Rejected from Cornell. One more rejection to go for a full sweep. Congratulations on all the acceptances!
-
I’m not sure, but there are only four seats in total this year, I understand.
-
I emailed CUNY. They won’t be releasing decisions until sometime in April.
-
Thanks for letting me know. I applied to DMA in Composition. Not sure how to interpret radio silence.
-
Congrats on all the acceptances! Has anyone heard anything about when CUNY and Cornell will be releasing decisions?

Rejected from Brandeis composition.

I haven’t heard a word from CUNY, Cornell or Brandeis. Anyone else?

This is what’s happening to music programs in general. I think many schools are making brutal cuts. I wish they were more transparent. https://amp.ithacajournal.com/amp/6814594002

That’s very good news. You must be in the running. I got my rejection three weeks ago.

Congratulations. No news could be good news. Rejected from UW and UCSD in Composition. Probably a different timeline

Thanks. It’s been a rough year for everyone I guess. Sadly, it was not me who got waitlisted at NYU. So far, all flat-out rejections. Honestly, I would be happy to get waitlisted anywhere. And ditto on installations.

Rejected from Stanford.

Fair enough. I think Brandeis is typically later than the rest. I hope you hear something. I hope we all do.

I have accepted the fact that this might not be my year. I had less opportunity to get recordings of my chamber pieces. If nothing else, I will hopefully be better prepared next year.
-
Thanks for all the feedback. Ugh. Less seats. More applicants. Looks like I’ll probably be back here next year.

My advisor said not to contact them until decisions were released. I might request feedback from a few after the fact (assuming I will be rejected, of course).

Anyone hear from CUNY, Stanford DMA composition, Cornell or Brandeis? I did not get an interview at any of these. Should I assume the worst?
