got the letter from RIT today also - bit of a scholarship but no tuition waiver which means some thinking and research...... youre in prov ? I might know ya : )

In a similar position myself with somewhere, won't say too much about it other than i found it quite baffling, actually. I have one more wait for a school that is such a good fit that a rejection ......... i might have to get a new brain fitted or something, I really wouldnt be able to take it in.

Bard you're talking about having stephen shore on the faculty - its kind of building and building in my view, didnt see much funding for it. Seem to remember parsons having some amount of funding and of course its a big name institute. ICP, SVA are looking like the hot places right now. I'd make sure you were getting stephen shore time on the course - seems a very open guy.

I'm too far away to interview and not a painter/sculptor/intermedia etc - so they emailed the waitlist notification, someone else here has an interview. rit funding is pretty poor, no tuition waiver - scad gave me a complete tuition waiver last year and i still couldnt do it, so i'm not too sure about rit.

Well what do you know, rit emailed and have got everything. Everything, that is except a toefl - presumably because people in the uk don't speak english obv.

also with the rit - can't see if they got transcripts etc either - mabe it just doesnt show up yet, or they will email you about it.

Applied to a few places - not many on the lists here apart from risd - i would like to go somewhere that has some decent funding and is perhaps not a big 'name' - so as to take the pressure off myself and allow me to make better work. edit - nice large format work there ricky, 'of leaves' is my fav - i'm kind of wondering why we couldnt all just get together on the internet and crit ourselves : )

cant see the galleries you mentioned.

a lot of schools are looking for people who don't work in the "gallery vacuum" I can assure you that RISD isnt one of them.

hmmmmm 4th and 5th paragraphs are no good, you're not seperating yourself from your work and it sounds like a bit of an anti art rant - you'd end up burning risd down lol

looks like a good statement to me, was getting a bit jealous reading it so thats a good sign : ) I was a bit confused as to why you mentioned sculpture though - otherwise gave me lots of things to improve my own statement i cant quite see the work you mentioned on your site but youve got some very very very strong work there
