[Are GREs worth taking, 2021-2022?]

Hi everyone! I would be interested to hear your thoughts on schools that say " GRE General and Chemistry subject tests are recommended but not required."

I was wondering if it's permissible to combine the "Intellectual Merits" and "Broader Impact" section. Because I have seen examples where people wrote them conjointly. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Thank you!!
