Good to know. I can freak out by the mid-Feb if I don't get accepted into any school lol
I know you feeling. It is good to have this place to chat, otherwise I would have to freak out all by myself lol

Oh absolutely. My initial drafts sounded like a phd thesis in itself. As one of my reviewers said, "You sound too sure of your research topic." It's such a bizarre dance between clarity of concept and potential to learn.
That is good—programs like when you are sure about your interests. Almost every program I applied for asked prospective students to be as clear as they could about what they intended to research.

My research interests are all over the place lol but predominantly affect, oppressor victimhood and unreliable sources of information (rumours, slogans, secrets).
Your research sounds very interesting. I love to read works that deal with emotions in general. My interests are kind of confusing. Hopefully, I made it clear in my SOP. It's challenging to be specific but not toooo specific, you know?

I think so kkkkk I hope the universities I applied to like it too.
I am freaking out. Specially because I do not see people talking about interview or any kind of feedback for comm/media programs. I dont know if its common for comm applicants to get responses later. I guess I am being too anxious.
I am sure they will.
I only know that UC's usually make decisions in Jan/early Feb. I guess only Davis does interviews.

For the MCC programme, they shortlist 10 candidates for the interview. I have applied to Uchicago, Stanford and Rutgers for Anthro. This whole endeavour seems so doomed T_T
You applied to great schools! I am curious, what are your research interests?

I stumbled upon this thread while being anxious over my NYU MCC application and it's kind of heartening (and kind of intimidating) to find so many interested candidates! At this point, I am pretty sure I won't get in but all the best to everyone else!
Hey! This thread is from last year! There is one thread for 2022 applicants!

Awesome! We have some options in common! What are your research interests?
Something around media, technology and platform governance. And yours?

Hey! ?
So I am applying to:
Cornell (Communication)
UPenn (Communication)
Northwestern (Media, Technology, & Society)
University of Wisconsin, Madison (Life Sciences Comm/Journalism & Mass Comm)
Rutgers (Communication & Media)
Michigan State (Communication)
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (Communication) I currently go here for Advertising!
My research interests pertain to deceptive advertising, environmental communication, and pro-environmental behavior.
Hey! I also applied to Rutgers, Upenn, Northwestern, and Cornell. I believe I only have a chance at Rutgers.
This waiting time is killing me

Hey! Has anyone applied for USC? I applied for the priority deadline (11/1), but I was informed that it was not related to funding, as all accepted students are fully funded. I was wondering what this priority deadline means. Anyway, when does USC typically release its results?
I applied on 12/01. I imagined USC receive a lot of applications and starts to review them in November

Does anyone have any news? From what I've been seeing, communication programs usually only give results from January, right?
I haven't heard from any university. I also applied to UMass, UFlorida, Rutgers and UCSB.
