Hey all, has anyone reached out to UoOregon to understand their timeline better? It still looks like mostly silence and it's making me crazy! -

Hey, so I did not receive a rejection or anything from CU Boulder English Phd, but I checked the portal to see if it had updated and now instead of "PhD" it says "MA". I assume this means I was rejected for the PhD and am being considered for the MA instead? Do you all think that is a fair assumption? -

Does anyone else still have a pending application for UoOregon? -

Same! I've been trying to figure out the pattern from past years. It looks like they sometimes send out the waitlists first but I hope we get more answers today so we don't have to wait for next week!! -

Does anyone have idea what's going on with UoOregon? ? It's been quite for a few days, I'm wondering if that's bad news or if they're just moving slowly. -

Did you just hear today? It’s still radio silence for me. Congrats! -

Judging by the results page UoOregon is only sending out one answer a day? ? -
Just got checked my portal and also got the rejection. 3 rejections so far!

What is everyone's opinion on the more interdisciplinary degrees like Medieval Studies as opposed to history? As a medieval historian, I get heavily mixed reviews. I would prefer a history degree and a lot of my professors have told me that if I want to teach, a history degree is better; however, a lot of POI's I spoke to heavily encouraged me to go into Medieval Studies instead since most of the medievalists seem to end up supervising MS degrees anyways. Does anyone have experience or know of how it is teaching at a university level with a MS degree rather than history?

Hey everyone! I'm new here and only applied to a couple of english/lit programs this round since my background is in history. Has anyone heard any news on Johns Hopkins or University of Colorado Boulder? I saw a couple of UoOregon results get posted (congrats to the acceptance!), so I'm anxious to hear back about those hopefully soon! -
Ahh, so I wonder if its bad news if we didn’t get an unofficial notice yet.

I’ve been wondering the same! It doesn’t seem like they usually interview everyone but I haven’t heard anything from them either.

Hey! That was me, my subfield was medieval Europe Columbia was a bit of a long shot for me in terms of matching with POI’s. I hope you get better news soon!

Oh! Can I ask how you liked Notre Dame? I’m not sure about the history department but I had a friend who did a PhD in (i think) psychology who had issues with their program. I was hoping history was different since they have a good set of medieval resources!

Hey everyone! Has anyone else applied to Cornell and Notre Dame? I don’t think we’re expected to receive interviews for those programs right?
