I had reached out to them when I posted on here and I just got a response (I had originally gotten an out of office message) saying "the DrPH program is still reviewing applications and hoping to have all decisions out this month."

Oh boy... just going to sit here constantly refreshing my email some more.

    Good luck!

  2. Good afternoon all, I am currently completing my DrPH at Loma Linda, and my initial goal was to go to JHU. I am projected to graduate with my DrPH in Spring 2025, and my question is if anyone here has completed a DrPH, then applied to, and got into the JHU MPH program. Of course, I will not be applying for over another year, but trying to get things in order and hear if others have had success and what their experiences may have been upon entering the MPH program, after completing a DrPH beforehand.

  3. Got accepted to LLU for this coming fall for the DrPH in Health Policy and Leadership. Very excited to start, was my 2nd year applying, first post-MHA graduation. People in this last years cycle forum were very informative and helpful to me and I would like to return the favor after going through the application and interviewing process. Good luck to all applying this upcoming cycle!

You’ve only got 15 minutes. So keep your answers concise. Look back at your SOP. what did you say you wanted to study there?  Stay consistent. Are you looking at advancing the foundation of health education or policy? Is there a particular therapeutic area of interest you wrote about? Also be prepare to answer questions about your thoughts on attending a program rooted in a faith-based framework. LOOK AT THE COURSES FOR YOUR PROGRAM OF CHOICE. They asked about what courses I felt I would gain the most learning from. Luckily I was able to highlight a few courses by name. Also be prepared to give a minute elevator pitch about why LLU is a good fit mutually.

Best of luck!  Rooting for you!!!!

Thank you so much for the insight! Fell that the interview went well. And hope to hear within the next 2 weeks.

  5. Short-notice question! I have an interview tomorrow at 10am with LLU. Only interview I got so do not want to mess it up. Is it better to narrow down and specify one specific area I would want to research or list a few options? I do not want to see uncertain with a topic but do not want to say one and it not be a great option for the faculty available and miss out either. Any help is greatly appreciatted.

Hello! I have been a silent reader but just thought to inquire, has anyone applied to LLU- Loma Linda University. What stream did you apply to? Have you heard yet from them?

I applied to LLU- global leadership but no I have not heard anything yet and emailed them last week..

Thank you for sharing these. You're right that we have the opportunities to apply because of what others have endured, and yet there's still so much work to do. I've actually been wondering if I'd have been accepted to JHU if I had applied for the Social Justice and Equity track instead of Informatics. My CV is full of social justice and equity, and I have an MSW in addition to an MPH, so I thought that taking that experience and then branching into informatics would bring the most good. But I am a woman, and that is also going from a very woman-centered area to a male-dominated one, and doing so without a massively heavy informatics CV was probably unwise. But oh well.

I am sorry you didn't get into UNC. I was rejected from there as well but I didn't get an interview. You should feel proud to have gotten that far! I am still waiting on UNC but have otherwise been savoring every minute since my Rutgers acceptance and confirming with them. Especially right now with how our field has blown up, I feel very lucky to have a spot from my first application cycle.

May I ask what were your other application outcomes?

I had similar train of thought when applying to JHU's Informatics program. I got rejected unfortunately but now reflecting and realizing that it may not have been my best choice without having solid background in Informatics. Still waiting to hear from 3 schools though! Hope everyone waiting will get some good news here soon.

    Update:

    • Waitlisted: JHU, Wharton
    • Rejected: Berkeley, Harvard
    • Waiting to hear from: Stanford, Yale

Never interviewed with Yale, but they said I would hear by the end of February (not sure what happened). Interviewed with Stanford and they recently told me I'd hear within two weeks.

I reached out to UNMC yesterday because I was supposed to hear in mid-Feb, either way, and they said their process was delayed because there was technical issues with accessing SOPHAS for over a week. I do not know if it was just for them or if it was on SOPHAS' side but could explain why there has been a delay on hearing from majority of DrPH schools.

Rutgers DrPH folks -- I've been accepted! I am so thrilled and in disbelief. This is my first doctorate cycle and so far I've just received a rejection, so I am just so absolutely happy about this. I have really loved every interaction with Rutgers so I know it'll be great if I accept.

I applied to the fellowship program at JHU so since that'd be full funding, I'd probably have to choose that one if I get in. But that's getting accepted to that program plus the fellowship, so I'm not holding my breath too hard there. In any case, check your emails.

That is awesome news! Congrats! Havent heard yet but hope i hear by end of the week then.

Another Indiana DrPH applicant here and I haven't heard anything yet. I'll be sure to update if and when I hear something!

Awesome! Nice to see a few Indiana appliers here. No shot anyone applied to Nebraska huh? hah

I also reached out to Rutgers on the 7th and was told within a week or so. And still no word. I have been way too excited to hear from them early since they'd originally (a few months ago) stated that decisions would go out in late January. Then it was first week of Feb. Then a week or so. And now we're into the 3rd. I know "a week or so" could mean 2 weeks or more, so I'm trying to remind myself of that. But I'm super anxious to hear from them. I don't have any apps into your other places so can't speak to them.

Thanks for the quick response! Yea i do not know what may caused this delay in response from them but I really hope we hear by end of the week! I have not seen any one in here applying to Indiana or UNMC but knew were atleast few others for Rutgers so thought i would clump and see what happens hah. You guys will be first to know whenever I hear something.

  12. I still have not heard from Indian, UNMC and Rutgers. Reached out to all 3 and was told on the 7th that within a week or so would hear, rejection or acceptance, so no silent rejection which is nice. But has anyone heard from any of those schools yet regarding their DrPH programs?

  13. Good morning all, another week or waiting ahead. Was curious if anyone knows as this is my first real attempt for Doctoral programs. But one school sent me an email to check financial aid award information on their portal and shows among other things, scholarship award offers. Is that something everyone who applies would get shown or could that be a promising sign that I may be getting an offer to the program? Thanks for any insight!

Good luck to you! Did you interview at Indiana? I can't seem to find information on their process.

Thanks! I did not interview, I cannot see anywhere mentioning any interviews. But I reached out to them earlier this week and was told that is the timeline, but that was all.

Found out I am second on the JHU HSR waitlist. Whoever else got accepted please decline! Lol. This seriously complicates my life. I don't really want to go to Minnesota but I will if I have to.

Rooting for you! JHU is my first choice. Waiting til March for DrPH.

Meanwhile, UNMC is supposed to let me know "very soon" if my application is forward to final review and Indiana is late Feb/early March. I have not heard back definitively on any of my 5 schools. Pure torture here!

Haha I did this yesterday! I received a response this morning and it was very lovely. I was told they are in the final stages of decisions and will be sending them out "over the next week or so". I have really enjoyed every interaction I have had with Rutgers. I've read the email reply like 100 times in the last 2 hours since I got it ?

Haha, aw well thank you for letting me know that. Yea my friend goes to Rutgers for Masters and loves the school. Good luck to us both!
