I hear ya. It's the same in publishing, too. "If you don't hear from us in 3 months, your piece wasn't accepted. No simulaneous submissions"?

Right???? Vanderbilt's was pricey as hell, and I have gotten zero notification from them. No "Thanks for applying", no updates, no rejections, no nothing. Oh well.

It's kind of wild that uni's are still doing direct mail.

There's still hope if there's still apps out. Sending you lots of good vibes. BTW, does anyone know how many Drew takes?

I'm sorry, Sayf. I got my rejection from UTS yesterday right as I woke up. Here's hoping for an acceptance for both of us soon!

Union Theological sent their rejects this morning.

@sayf Beta Blockers have been my friend, for sure. My GP is god sent; prescribed them to me after I told her I was submitting PhD apps and said, "you're going to need them." Red flags everywhere lol

@sayf I get it. A day after I sent out my apps I wanted to yank them all. My advisor nearly punched my in the face and told me not to do it. Who knew applying to PhD progs came with a complimentary case of crushing anxiety and hopelessness.?

@theologizing77 I haven't even allowed myself to hope -- defense mechanism to blunt any crushing disappointment. ? Yeah, I'm over at UTS and hoping to stay internal because the faculty knows me, but Drew is REAL sexy. Their classes have me salivating, and I have erotic dreams of on campus parking wherein I don't have to pay a meter every few hours or switch sides for street cleaning. ? I wonder if the profs get a sick enjoyment out of watching PhD applicants white knuckle the first two weeks of the Spring semester each year.

@theologizing77 My friend was applying for Systematic Theology (both Drew and Union). It seems that Union got a load of Systematic Theology applicants this year (I know of 3-5, off hand). I do know that UTS is only accepting two PhD students this year rather than their usual 4-5. Their PhD info session late last year offered no reason as to why they didn't return to their normal acceptance rate, or any indication of whether or not they will (I'm thinking there might be a funding issue there?). Re: timeline emails; yeah, same. My email said "early February" - so I'm guessing anytime now. Your nails bitten down to the quick yet?
