  1. I'm in first year at UOttawa you can msg me if you have questions!
  2. Hey y'all! Just wanted to post here in case it would be useful for someone. I'm in 1st year at UOttawa, so if anyone is applying there, or eventually gets in let me know if there's anything you want help with.
  3. Hi! Not sure if this will help you, but this is what I did. Last year I was rejected from Mcmaster, UofT, McGill and UdeM. This year rejected from McMaster, Western, UofT, but I was accepted to UOttawa. To improve my GPA and application in general, I found another volunteer position with SLPs running a PEERS program here in Toronto, and they wrote a reference for me. I also took classes through Eastern New Mexico University. I actually found out about them through another person in a thread from a previous year. They run a 2nd Bachelor's in Communicative Disorders so the classes would be related on top of being at the undergraduate level so it counts towards subGPA calculations. They are EXTREMELY affordable compared to other US schools (semester was the same as when I was doing undergrad in Toronto, and you can get money from OSAP). It is totally online and totally asynchronous. If you work at it, you can get As no problem, most things are open book. I think I had only 1 proctored exam and I took 6 classes with them. I registered with them right after I was rejected in April, and managed to get in on time to do the summer semester with them, as well as Fall. Might help you if you want to get more classes in before applications at the end of the year. Also really felt like it prepared me much more for what I am about to study, and much better than taking random courses. Some of the courses I did with them I even got to use as prereqs for Western and UOttawa (UofT is kind of strict and only wants general courses not specifically related to SLP which in my mind is weird but ok) Realized this post is already super long (sorry everyone) if you have more questions you can message me! To everyone who didn't get in this year, I feel you, I was there, don't give up and GOOD JOB for working hard until this point ❤️
  4. Hello! I would seriously recommend the 2nd Bachelor's or Leveling program in Communicative Disorders at Easter New Mexico University (undergraduate level). Registering is pretty fast if you are on top of it, and that way you can start this summer and get 2 semesters worth of classes in (that's what I did last year). ENMU's classes are asynchronous, so you can watch lectures when you want. Everything is online even the exams. Only two of my classes had proctored exams at no extra charge to me. The classes are VERY cheap compared to other US schools and they don't charge you more for being a Canadian student. So I think last semester for me was around 6K Canadian? Which is what I was paying for 5 courses when I went to University in Ontario during my undergrad. They are very good at responding so you can call them for more info.
  5. Has anyone spoken recently to McGill? I haven't seen anyone in the group get waitlist or rejections yet and mine still says In Review. A little bit ridiculous how late it is now...
  6. No one has gotten any waitlists or rejections from McGill?
  7. I didn't get an email but I just checked UZone and I was accepted! You should check
  8. keep me posted for uottawa im waiting too!
  9. I did! Hard to find anything on the internet about it, most people on forums discuss the English programs. Did you have someone from the department email you about the prereqs? Or did you choose them all from their list?
  10. Since there were acceptances from Mcgill on Friday and yesterday, but seemingly silent today, I think it's reasonable to assume we will be hearing waitlists now? and potentially rejections by the end of the week? Just based on my experience on the forum last year. What do you guys think?
  11. I am very curious about this as well if anyone is willing to share!
  12. Mine still says "submitted" on the initial Application Management page, but when I open the actual application it says "In Review"
  13. Also already got my rejection from McMaster this morning lol saying "your sub-GPA was not high enough to place you in the top 150 applicants invited for a personal interview" Sigh
  14. Hey! I got 3rd quartile last year and 4th this year. I wasn't accepted last year but I think it was definitely because of my C-GPA, not the casper. 3rd quartile is still good its better than 50-75% of applicants! It's a huge range so it's stressful not knowing what exact score is being sent to the school. But I have seen on reddit people who got into UdeM in the 3rd quartile!
