Just got into Western MPH from the waitlist, can anyone provide some insight about whether the one year program has a clear advantage or whether there are some drawbacks?

Finally have a change in status for my Waterloo application, but it just says I’m on the waitlist. Great, more waiting ?

I got off the waitlist for Guelph MPH yesterday (I was 11th on the waitlist, so I wasn’t expecting it). Can anyone give some insight to which program is better, Guelph MPH or Queen’s MPH?

I set up my netID and they need official transcripts but nothing else other than that

Sure thing, I did my HBSc from UofT in Life Sciences and I’m currently finishing up a graduate diploma in applied health sciences from Western. My undergrad cGPA was 3.5/4 and in the final 2 years it was 3.8. I don’t think schools use grades from outside of undergrad but I think my graduate diploma marks May have helped (90s). In undergrad, I did a capstone project on indigenous mental health. I did some volunteering as a screener at a hospital and volunteered at a local vax clinic. I had my research supervisor profs from undergrad provide my references.

Can someone provide some insight on which MPH program is better, Queens or USask?

Got my acceptance from USask last week and rejected from UOttawa today when I checked the portal

Got my rejection for UofT Health Promo today, I also emailed Suzanne yesterday and she let me know that I’ll receive my formal rejection next week and that this applies to everyone in the second/middle group of applicants who get reviewed another time after the first rounds of offers and rejections have gone out.

Also just got my rejection for McMaster MPH

Nice, maybe I'll see you at Queen's! My main reason was because it's a 1-year program (and I'm currently doing a graduate diploma at Western - so easier transition I guess). I haven't done the calculations for what the overall living expenses would be for Queen's vs Western but that's a good point that Western's tuition is a lot more expensive and I think that would be my only reason not to choose Western. Also, I'm not too sure about the OSAP funding for other programs, if anyone else knows - please chime in!

Thank you!! Yeah, I talked to someone who's doing her MPH at Western and she said that too! She doesn't really like the layout of the program and mostly chose it because it's only a year long.

I know June is super late! I probably won't wait on them anymore since I've accepted my offer from Queen's for now but I was hoping to get in to Western. I've applied to other programs in Ontario as well and I'm waiting to hear back from those. Their tuition is the highest and it's not OSAP approved either ?

Just got an email from Western MPH saying that I'm on the waitlist "Early JUNE" ?

I emailed Gerri and she said that the offer was sent on their end and it might take a couple of days for it to be updated on my end. I think we should be fine unless we still don't see it by the end of this week.

Speaking of, how would we go about changing our mind and letting them know if that was to happen? Most programs are sending out offers in April it seems.

For people who received an offer from Queen's MPH, does your status on the online application still say submitted (instead of an offer)? If we have until Apr. 1 to accept or decline, I'm a little concerned that it hasn't been updated yet online...

I get those emails every other Friday but I think you're right about the pattern possibly applying for their decisions as well!

Congratulations to everyone getting accepted, I also got an offer from Queens today!!

I applied to Waterloo and my application still says there’s no decision yet from the department. Hopefully we’ll get responses soon cause it’s already March, but I think most offers are sent out in April.
