Hey guys,
As I recently got admitted to both programs I would like to hear your take on this. I am leaning towards Data Science since as a CS major I already am able to find software engineering jobs and feel that CS master would not change much for me in that regard while Data Science master seems like it would also open up job opportunities as a data scientist as well. What is your opinion in this regard?
Weren't you called for an ESOP interview? Do you really think they will consider you for ESOP and then reject you lmao. These Master's programs are not as competitive as most people make it ought to be, good GPA/GRE and being from a high ranked uni. in your respective country is enough mostly. Relax, you will get an admit.
You need to relax my friend, seen you posting too many times. No one can tell you when the results will be out but we are in the general timeframe where you can hear from them any day.
General pattern I observed is, initially the "strong" rejections are sent out. Meaning people with low grades, requirement profiles not matching, low GRE etc. Than "strong" acceptances are sent out for really strong profiles. Afterwards, the discussion lasts for 1-2 weeks to fill the remaining slots.
Eastern european country. Top uni in my country. CS major.
Top GPA, GRE and TOEFL.
Multiple research experience and data science/swe internships. Highlight is a one-year work under a professor which resulted in second-authoring a paper currently under review for top conference.
