Anxiously waiting on BU to decide my fate--I am thrilled with my other offers so I don't think I could really go wrong, but if I make it off the waitlist then I am definitely going to Boston. I hate how dragged out this process is 😕

Waitlisted at UF. Though I don't think there will be any waitlist movement, but I'll wait until early April and see how it goes.

I am so grateful that my cycle has ended (still waiting for Penn State, but I have already made peace with my rejection).
I saw some people accepted to the University of Arizona English and rhet./comp programs on the results page. I would be happy to connect if any of you want to claim those acceptances and plan on attending!
For everyone else in this forum, I am rooting for you and wishing you sanity and confidence in your decisions as April 15 approaches and the waitlists roll.
All the best, y'all, and thank you for everything! ✨

with yesterday's columbia acceptance, my cycle is finally over! still have a decision to make, but i really want to thank y'all for the info, camaraderie and sometimes commiseration in this forum. literally don't think i could have made it through without a place to vent and empathize with others; the app process can be so isolating! anyway, thank you, and i am so sorry for being corny lol

Big big congratulations!! As a non-native speaker myself it makes my heart happy to see others succeed. Hope you treat yourself to something nice today!!

Hi! I just want to share my happiness with you all! I am finally admitted somewhere (not top top ranked, but they have good reputation for child lit)! The perfect Valentine's present! I am very worried about the results because this year is my first cycle and I only apply to 4 phd programs. Also, I am not a native speaker, I have never studied in the US and my undergrad major is not english either. I just feel I am LESS compared to others. But today I received acceptance with tuition waiver, GTA and a merit fellowship award. They say I'm the top 2 phd admit to receive this award! I feel so happy that they like me and they value me! I wish you all good luck!!! I hope you will find my story encouraging and inspiring!

    Hi all,
I just wanted to chime in as I know we are in the middle of the application season.
A brief story: I applied two previous application cycles (non consecutively) and was shut out both times. Completely shut out. At first, I felt discouraged and not sure of what the next steps would look like.
But I continued to focus my research interests, attend conferences, and work on the written materials of my application. I also thought more critically about what programs would be the right fit for me.
This time around, my third time applying, I have several acceptances and offers.
I felt inclined to share this to let you know that you are doing great, no matter what the outcome happens to be. Try not to be discouraged. Given that it has taken me three tries to get accepted, anything can happen!

Finally I got an update! I'm waitlisted for TAMU (I want to research multiethnic YA lit). Not a rejection and I'm very very happy!!! At least they recognize my effort!
    Finger crossed for everyone!!!

I am reading another YA about Metis right now! C rying over the extreme  violence they face... being raped or assaulted, children taken away from them... God, it's just so difficult to read

Hi!! I'm sure we'll be able to give each other some comfort on this forum. I'm also avoiding bombarding my family and friends with PhD issues haha
I'm applying to 6 programs in the US! Maryland, Colorado, Boston, Northeastern, New Hampshire and Missouri. V nervous. Your choices are all alluring!

19th British lit, specifically novels! I’m only applying to schools in the US. Good luck to us both! It’s definitely a stressful time.

I've checked the past cycle and quite a few people posted their acceptances mid-February. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best!
