According to last year's thread, maintenance happens almost every weekend...I think our best bet is Tuesday, March 28th...That doesn't stop me from checking the portal multiple times a day though...

Do you have the 93.75% with or without the second round update? Also do you also see the former fellows form under “eligible programs”? I think it’s too early to email. I might on Monday if someone else hasn’t by then.

I misread the calendar...the Wednesday is the 29th of March...also an application on eligible programs just opened up for former fellows on the portal...I know it doesn't mean anything but the portal is really strange lol

While the application was due 2 weeks sooner, the SME panel review decisions were only a few days early (Jan 27th vs Jan 31st). My best guess is the 28th because last year they released on a Wednesday and the 2nd round notifications also started Jan 25th (a Wednesday).

The GRFP portal is still accessible, so I’m not sure the maintenance means much…

I agree. Things to consider: Last year, there were multiple outages before the one that led to decisions. The results came out on a Sunday, and the red banner on the nsfgrfp website was updated with an estimated release time. The earliest release in past years was March 17th. The results will come out before April 4th because that’s an info session for new fellows according to my friend who got it last year and went to an info session a couple weeks ago.

I think so, although this is also my first year applying to NDSEG. Yeah at least with GRFP they announce everything at the same time…

When I log in my application now says 93.75% complete under the preview section...it still has all the sections marked as complete, and my status (2nd Round Reviews) and last edited date (Jan 27) are the same. Did anyone else have a similar change?

@coughcoughcoffeeMy application was also updated again this morning. I don’t think it means much at this point. I know last year there were updates in March that seemed to correlate pretty well with waitlist/acceptances.

@coughcoughcoffee The last edited date will change, but it will just say “submitted” if you didn’t advance. I assume everyone will get the update today or tomorrow. I don’t know for sure though. @SciWolf157Congrats!

@coughcoughcoffeeThanks! The second round is the DoD branches review the top 30% of applications and decide on the winners. There is no interview component.

@anonymous_person @coughcoughcoffee What are your branches and disciplines? Has anyone else gotten a post SME review period update (after Jan 13th)? My application still says Jan 12th. If they do the mass update like last year, my expectation would be Friday at the earliest.

I think on the application page it would mention the DOD panel. My application isn’t even loading right now lol

My guess would be between the 27th and the 31st. Last year, the review panel ended on the 17th. It’s also interesting to note that some people, including me, got 4 updates while others got 3. Not sure if that means anything lol

I got 3 separate updates today so overall 11/25 -> 1/10 -> 1/12 (3)

I wouldn’t rule yourself out yet! People tend to procrastinate on these things. I got my first update on Tuesday and my second one today (after you posted). Based on others updates, there might be 3 or 4 reviewers, so I’m potentially still missing one more. If you don’t get any updates by 5 pm tomorrow, I’d be really surprised.

The SME review panel period. That’s why the DOD panel update happens in late January. If you check the website under SME it should be there

I’m starting to get concerned that I don’t have a single update at this point considering the review period ends next week on Friday.

I have yet to receive anything, but I am glad ONR is finally updating the applications lol
