I’ve been really fortunate and have gotten accepted to ND, Michigan, Washington, WashU, Oregon, and Cornell (???!!!) and waitlisted at Arizona. I’ve declined Oregon and Arizona. I still can’t believe my luck - I found out about Cornell at work (I’m a preschool teacher) and nearly passed out on the playground!
Poetry on my part! Unfortunately I can’t offer much insight. The verbiage they used was that people interviewed were “finalists” and/or from a “shortlist” but that’s not very helpful, sorry Thanks so much for your kind words.
Hi everyone! I just got an email telling me I “advanced to finalist status” for Notre Dame (!) and that they want to talk to me over Zoom to “get to know (me) better”. This means I haven’t been accepted, right? But I’m close? So either acceptance or waitlist? I didn’t even realize this was something Notre Dame did…
Heyyy fellow classics major!! Although I was double with Creative Writing. What area of classical studies did you focus on (history, linguistics, philosophy, etc.)? Also do you write classically-inspired stuff, too? I’m always so interested to meet writers with backgrounds in classics!
Hi y'all! Here to offer well wishes as the December 15th deadline is looming... I'm frantically revising (and essentially rewriting) my SOP for each school, which is maybe the worst part of this whole process, IMO. Each school wants a different length, different questions answered, and then I feel the need to research each school's resources and opportunities to oh-so subtly mention them. At least it'll be (mostly) over soon! Best of luck!?
