  1. Ah I think I know who that is. Mine is K.M. Also, I was talking to a PhD student yesterday during a writing retreat who happened to be on the admission committe. He told me that the committe met last week to make the final decisions. So we should probably get an update either later this week or next week!
  2. Yeah McGill is notoriously slow. Just fyi, I recieved my MA admission from McGill on March 30th back in 2020, and I think in that cycle, there was an online meeting for all admitted PhD students on March 19th, so decisions must have been sent out before then. I did ask my thesis supervisor about the timeline and he said he's hopeful that this year decisions can be made in early March. Also just out of curiosity, do you mind sharing the initials of the faculty member whom you contacted for supervision?
  3. Mine says "decided" also (PhD in education, culture and society). I honestly don't understand why they couldn't just tell us if it's decided already - it'll be a generic letter anyways I presume.
  4. Ha I''m surprised to see McGill was mentioned twice in this thread! It's (about to be) my alma mater twice (Bachelor of Education & thesis-based MA), and I know the department quite well. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. As for me, I applied to HGSE, Teachers College, Upenn, Stanford, OISE and McGill. Have not heard from any of them, though I'm meeting with my thesis supervisor come Friday so hopefully I can get some insider information about how admisssion is going this year, or at least some words of wisdom lol. Good luck everyone!
  5. Hi @mintchocol8e, is this from the results page? Because the only interview invite I see there was made on Jan. 3.
  6. @mintchocol8eThanks for the reassuring words! I reached out to the TC professor whom I'm interested in via email, and as I didn't want to impose, I hinted at my willingness to meet with him by saying "should you be interested, I'd love to talk to you more about it." The professor then replied asking for my availablity. My email was pretty standard, where I talked about my academic background and commented on a paper the TC professor wrote that is relevant to my MA thesis. If I have to guess, I'd say that the professor was willing to meet with me because he (apparently) knows my current master thesis supervisor quite well. I got this feeling because in both our email exchange and Zoom meeting, the TC professor complimented on how devoted my MA supervisor is as a mentor and asked me to send him "his warmest regards." How this connection plays out in the application process, however, may be an entirely different story...fingers crossed!
  7. @Diego TavaresYeah, I think PhD programs at TC generally have the Dec. 1 deadline.
  8. Hi @thinkwisely, I'm applying to the philosophy and education PhD program also - can't believe someone got an interview already! I have yet got an update about my application either. I did, however, had a 40-minute Zoom meeting with one of the two professors in the program prior to application (it was around early November). Could it be counted as a "semi-interview" lol? I'm now feeling anxious!
