I was accepted to Montana for fiction but haven't seen much for poetry on GradCafe. There is a post on Draft from someone who received a poetry offer with TA-ship – you could reach out to them if you're on FB!

Just wanted to say sorry that you're feeling this way. The entire process is so stressful and competitive. I'm sending you good luck for the rest of your programs, but also serene vibes with the hope that this won't affect your confidence in your writing.

I think that they're just dilly dallying on sending out the rejections, as these schools, somewhat inexplicably, seem to do.

I think I have made peace with the fact that the rest of my schools (4 more, who have all notified at least some acceptances) will be no's and I will end the season at 2a/7r. I think psychologically it is best for me to just cut loose from my expectations re: the other schools and plan as if they'll be rejections. This is the kind of mental gymnastics MFA notification season has brought me to.

I feel this. The super staggered acceptances (especially for schools with tiny cohorts!) just feels so unnecessary and cruel.

Ugh, Oregon State was probably my top choice. There's a faculty member there I would've died to work with. So this one stings. I am le sad.

Just want to say that this is amazing!! I have not done a good job of staying productive slash functional slash remotely creative in these times of great anxiety so I have massive respect for those who have managed to stay focused on writing

I only see a waitlist from Oregon State for CNF from this week on the results board. Has there been more posted on Draft?

Well, it's been a mixed bag day for me. Rejected from Oregon via the formiest of form emails just now. But received an offer from Wyoming via phone call this am!! Sorry for all those who got bad news from Arizona today; seems like they had a ton of applicants. Hoping you all get better news soon.

Congratulations!!! I hope there's movement on the waitlist soon!! Did they notify by phone or email? Oregon State is one of my top choices too (but fiction, not CNF).

WHOA, NWP acceptance up on the results board. Is it typical for schools to notify over the weekend? And a holiday weekend, no less…

Congrats to all those who received good news this week! I actually haven't heard back from a single program this week (after hearing from two last week, Litowitz and Montana). Hopefully there's a big rush of news soon because we're into late Feb now!

Welcome!! Fellow film industry escapee here... The last couple of weeks have been incredibly stressful for me; it got to the point where I was waking up multiple times every night from anxiety. The most helpful thing that I have done for myself is LEAVING DRAFT. I know for some people Draft is a really helpful community, but for me it just made me feel constantly on edge because my brain was always on alert, preparing for news. I think the nature of my anxiety is such that the constant trickle of new information via Draft, forums, etc. only feeds the anxiety — the best thing is to just remove those sources of information (which, frankly, are not that relevant to me! All the information I need will be delivered to my inbox in due time) and try and distract my brain with other things.

I haven't seen or heard anything about Cornell fiction either. I applied to UO too (in fiction), also assuming a rejection now since acceptances and waitlists have both been posted. Unfortunately don't know anything about UCSD, sorry. Really thought I'd have heard back from more places by now — I've only gotten decisions from two schools! (Including Oregon, 3.)

I feel you. I set my expectations on when I'd start hearing back based on last year's notification dates (not recommended, I know) and have been totally off.

I applied to Oregon in fiction as well. They only accept five per genre, so my guess is that since there's a poetry acceptance on draft from last week and a fiction acceptance on draft from this week, they're done notifying accepted applicants and we are not in the lucky five. Alas!

Got a call from Montana today – in for fiction! She said that they had not finished calling all of the accepted applicants so some of you may be getting good news in the coming days! Also going to post on the results board.

There's an acceptance to University of Montana for poetry up on the results board... Has there been anything posted on Draft about fiction?
