  1. I wanted to share this podcast here in case people haven't been introduced to it yet. My friend who was accepted into Dal's SLP program a couple years ago sent it to me and it was very helpful. It's a SLP themed podcast by Shannon Briggs (who completed her grad training at UBC) and she talks about grad school application tips, evidence-based treatment, grad school life, she often has guests talkers, and much much more. Here's one of her podcasts:
  2. This is so nice! Thank you for sharing
  3. I just received an email that a decision was made for my McGill application and I was rejected. I just accepted my spot at Western and am so thankful I was accepted there. Congratulations to everyone who has received acceptances, and I hope everyone still waiting to hear back/was waitlisted is doing okay. I know we have all worked so hard and I hope everyone here gets accepted ❤️
  4. I have heard nothing. It's the only school I am waiting to hear back from and the only thing keeping me from accepting my spot at Western. Hopefully we hear by the end of this week.
  5. I am waiting to hear back from McGill before I accept my spot at Western, but definitely am up for a groupchat if I get rejected from McGill
  6. Yes! I thought that was really nice of them
  7. I got accepted to Western!!!
  8. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted to UofA! Where are you all from/do you already live in Alberta?
  9. Me too!!! I am so grateful
  10. Absolutely. April is so late to be letting students know where they will be in 4-5 months
  11. I just went to view my application but hit "withdraw application" instead. Thank god for the second "confirm you would like to withdraw your application screen". I can't wait for this to be over. Mine also says in review now.
  12. mine also says pre-screening still
  13. If we didn't get in this ain't cool.
  14. mine also says this! Its under the "conditions of admissions" header right?
  15. Yes! I usually have do not disturb on all the time because I get a lot of annoying notifications, but I have it off now just in anticipation of some sort of grad school email. I'm so nervous it's hard to focus!
  16. In last year's forum the first acceptance email went out on March 23rd I think! I am on the edge of my seat 24/7 now
  17. I'm hoping for our sake there is a smaller group of people applying! These programs are so competitive, so maybe some people are skipping the application process this year to get volunteer hours/boost their GPA/work to strengthen their application when they do apply in the future. I applied to the University of Toronto, Western, McGill, McMaster (rejected), and the University of Alberta. I cast a wide net because I really want to get in on this application cycle. I would be happy to go anywhere! They all seem like great programs.
  18. I also received an email from Western on January 20th to set up my "Western Identity"
  19. Hi everyone, this is my first time posting in this thread (I have finally cracked). It's been a roller coaster trouble shooting application-related issues so congrats to everyone who has everything submitted! I was wondering if anyone took the Casper test on January 10th, or is planning to take it on January 26th. McGill's website lists those two dates as being the last opportunities to take the test if you are applying for fall 2023 admission. However, I read it takes 3 weeks for Casper to send them the scores? Since the deadline for SLP applications at McGill was January 15th, I am confused. I read that the Casper score is one of the first things they look at, so does this mean that McGill doesn't review applications until mid-February to allow scores to come in?
