  1. I received an email yesterday from my POI, saying that at this point, two days before the deadline, they still don't know if all slots in the waitlist will be filled, and asking me if a spot were to open on the 15th, might I still be interested... So I guess it's good news, right? Because I imagine he would only write such an email if I stood a good chance. I don't know. I have 9 rejections and this one. such an emotional rollercoaster...
  2. A friend who studies there said he's almost sure they already told everyone
  3. I've been told that they already informally told everyone who was accepted into the history program... I just hope it's not like that in the joint program, which also had a slightly different application deadline (3 days later)
  4. ahhhh the sadly expected rejection from Harvard has arrived... Does anybody know when is the joint program of History and ME at NYU is expected to send results? Not a lot of info on the results page + I have a sense it will be crazy late
  5. I don't have anything there and I didn't receive any mail so far. I hope it doesn't mean it's completely over...
  6. Soooo... Are we expecting Harvard today?
  7. Just been waitlisted by Chicago... I thought I had a good shot on this one, but I guess waitlisted is also an excellent reply and means that my application is not a total disaster, and I might have a shot at other universities. Does anybody know how this waiting list thing goes? How many people are usually there, is there a ranking, is it divided into fields, etc... I'm dying to know my chances
  8. Hey, maybe I'm wrong, but from my understanding, that is not true. Some POI in some fields sent some candidates emails, but offers are not out yet. The numbers of acceptance reports here are still very low
  9. Same here. Ten programs, three on Dec 1, six on Dec 12-18, and one on Jan 4. Crickets.
  10. me neither... :(((((
  11. Hi everyone! A friend has told me that Harvard committees will meet before the weekend. She estimates that official answers will be given in February's second or third week. No interviews are expected. Does anyone have this type of information on other universities? Besides Harvard, I applied to history PhD programs at Yale, Columbia, NYU (joint program history and Middle East), Princeton (Near Eastern studies), University of Chicago, Duke, Michigan (Ann Arbor), UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego. I know that the best thing to do is just wait patiently, but man, It's hard! And about Chicago - I wasn't invited to an interview yet. So how much is it a bad sign? Cheers!
