Thank you! I think I'm leaning toward either Yale or Michigan at this point, since they offer FLAS and would be much easier financially. Still waiting on FLAS notifications from Yale, though, it's possible I won't be awarded.

That's great! Let me know what you decide, I'll be curious to see where you end up. Best of luck with the scholarships and fellowships!

Thank you so much! Best of luck to you too!

Really sorry to hear that, Kalatozov :( any updates on the other schools you applied to? Which ones are you leaning toward? Yes, I got in

Congratulations on your acceptance to Yale! That is really a great program with some fantastic professors. Currently, I am applying for some scholarships and fellowships, would be happy with any university I got accepted by.

Hi I wonder have you heard anything from the department yet? I sent an email to the department to check my status and they told me they already sent out the first wave of acceptances and are waiting for those people to accept/decline the offer before making further offers. So I guess I'm also on an waitlist of sorts

I have not heard anything from the department since the waitlist notification. UCSB has officially rejected me too, I did not expect any other outcome after I was not invited to an interview. I wish we had any more information about the Irvine waitlist, how many applicants got in and how many are on the waiting list.

Got it, makes sense - same here. Really banking on FLAS for those schools that offer it (luckily I got it through Michigan, but neither Georgetown nor GWU offer it for Russian/Eurasian studies). Congrats and best of luck to you as well, hoping everything works out for the best!

Georgetown has posted their admissions results. I got accepted, but did not get any funding.

Congratulations, that's awesome! Have heard great things about IU. I've gotten into similar Russian/Eurasian studies MA programs at U of Michigan and George Washington University. Just waiting to hear back from Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown now. Which one are you leaning toward?

Thank you so much! I will need a full tuition fee waiver and a scholarship to be able to afford my studies, so I’m waiting for the financial aid information. Congrats on your acceptances and wish you all the best with other schools you are still awaiting responses from!

Since it was only a few days ago, Yale may still be conducting interviews! I got an email from their Programs Coordinator/Registrar on Feb. 25. It was a bit more formal than the Harvard interview and twice as long - there were three faculty members interviewing me. I was actually surprised to get the email since it seems so late in the process, I'd just assumed I hadn't advanced. But overall, it went OK.

Have you heard back from any other schools yet?

I have been accepted to the similar program at IU Bloomington, also to Upitts MPIA and UNC Global Studies. Still waiting for Georgetown.

    What about you?

Hey! I had a Harvard interview on January 27 and a Yale interview on February 27. Still waiting to hear back from both. I also applied at Georgetown but haven't heard anything about interviews. Any updates on your end?

I did not receive an invitation to a Yale interview, I suppose it means they did not shortlist me. As I know, Georgetown does not have interviews for this program and they usually post results in March.

How did you get an invitation to a Yale interview? How did it go?

I emailed the department yesterday asking if I'm waitlisted or rejected and they got back to me this morning saying they are still in the process of making decisions and it could still take weeks. So I guess it could mean they still haven't sent out all decisions yet.

I just received an email that I have been put on waitlist. Did you receive anything?

I’m thinking they’re taking too long as well, perhaps they’ve already send out an wave of acceptance? But then again, faculties certainly do take their time in these situations. I figure if I still don’t get an response by early next week I might email them.

Someone just posted that they have been accepted on the 10th of February, so I guess they have already sent out the acceptances.

Honestly I have no clue. Do you know how many people they have interviewed? I think there was around 12 ish people at the info session last week. I know they are looking to enroll 6-7 student for 2023 so I would assume they are looking to accept the majority of the people who were interviewed.

I have no idea either, I also think they interviewed 10-14 people. I guess it won't take too long to make a decision in that kind of pool, but it already took more than 1 week.

  11. Hi! I actually didn’t apply to REECA, I only applied to Yale and Georgetown (also UNC Chapel Hill, where I got accepted, and Indiana Bloomington), but still asked the question since these programs are always presented together on this forum.

Congratulations on the interview! How did it go? Did you apply to any other schools I mentioned? Have you heard back from them?
