Unfortunately I didn't receive the fellowship. For all the future record keepers out there, I was Committee 1 (Literature and Fine Arts), and received a score of 14.59/18. I was ranked 25/81 but they funded 23 applications with the last successful score being 14.71. According to the letter I "will be advised without delay should additional funds become available." Does this mean I am second on the waitlist should 2 people turn down the offer?

In some ways I am blessed to be in Europe so I only need to start panicking and staring at my email starting at 3:00pm when I know things are opening up in Canada, as opposed to losing my whole day like I know I would if I were in North America. But let's hope this doesn't last for too many more days - good luck everyone!

I am currently doing a post-doc in Europe, and the institution has said they may be able to extend me for a few months if I don't get the SSHRC, but otherwise... I simply don't know what's next. My family and I are really ready to move back to Canada, so I didn't apply to any other positions in Europe or the States this year and really put all my eggs in one basket. Basically, the fallback plan is to reassess my whole life in a week or two if need be!

Going through enough years of old posts and it seems like the earliest they've ever sent out the decision is February 24 and the latest is March 4. So I am looking at that week of February 27-March 3 as the most likely time for this year's decision. (Great to find other people who are anxiously refreshing and waiting for a decision though!)
