The GRFP false alarm did not quite have the right time of maintenance (which had maintenance end at 8am). This maintenance has a time of 11pm-6am and falls in line with every prior maintenance before GRFP release. I bet this is it honestly, but we will see very soon! Edit: obvious caveat: results have never been released on a Wednesday before, but prior to last year they had never been released on a Monday either.

Fastlane maintenance happens some weeks, but not all. And GRFP maintenance doesn’t happen weekly, I’m not sure how many times a year it is, but it’s sporadic enough to the point that it was a sign that the GRFP was going to be released in the past. Does anyone know if GRFP maintenance in particular has not led to results being released in the past? As far as I can tell, this might be one of the only cases where a GRFP maintenance was a false alarm, assuming this is a false alarm. Maintenance officially goes until 8, so if we don’t have results by then… yea

Look at the little spreadsheet going around. Seems like first results are posted somewhere between 11:00 pm to 5 am, but usually around 1-3 am ish.

No way… for the first time last year they release results on Monday. Now results on a Saturday? Well, I’m setting an alarm for 4am or something so I can check the results 5 hours earlier than I would get an email (it’s totally worth it)

It’s possible it’s next week Tuesday, they’ve released it “early “ before. But yea… April 4 is probably more likely. Maybe just try to forget that the GRFP exists for the next week?

Very well said! Yes, I’m already a grad student, I started this semester. So, I know I’m incredibly lucky to have funding… RA funding as well. And, I have dug back through the Wayback machine, and Friday-Saturday maintenance from 10pm-8am on Fastlane seems pretty normal, not all weeks have it, but many do. I wouldn’t get too excited about possible results tomorrow! Maintenance for results has only been to, at latest, 6am as well.

So we basically wait for tomorrow morning and see if there is a GRFP banner. I would keep my hopes low, but I cant help but get excited…. And at the same time I know that even if results do release tomorrow the chance I get it is small… so I know I should have my hopes doubly low

Exactly, anyone want to dig through the forums for previous years and see if weekly maintenance is on fastlane too? Or if fastlane maintenance is a good indicator? I have a test today so I don’t have time (but of course I have enough time to procrastinate a little bit and send this) edit: nvm, just saw toastboy say these are indicative of results

Seems like the duration should be from ~10-11 PM the night prior to release to ~1-6 AM the day of the release (but the vast majority of the time 6 AM). Unless I’m reading it wrong, every single case in the excel sheet has it being only over one night. So, when we see a maintenance from 10 PM to 6 AM or so we know there’s a good chance. That is why I was personally skeptical of the last announcement, it was over more than just one night. It was Friday to Sunday, 8 PM to 10AM. Dates and times are a bit out of range. They could always switch stuff up though… so who knows

I think we can expect a shorter maintenance, just going overnight, before the results are released?

On the GRFP events calendar, it just says “busy” for March 28… which is interesting

Probably 5.5 weeks. The website says early April for the decision date, unless it’s been released early in late March when it has said that same thing before

I applied in biology (life science, or whatever the broader category is called). I’m surprised this thread isn’t more busy. Prior years seem to have a lot of activity. Maybe once we get closer to finding out. Only a little over a month
