  1. Yes, same. I was told in an email that all results will be out by Friday last week. It has now been over a week since then and I still have nothing.
  2. Just got a rejection from USC today (my top choice and second year in a row). Was told on Thursday that UMich decisions will be out by Friday (my last hope) but have nothing yet, even though some others have posted theirs. I am guessing it is a rejection too.
  3. I would suggest reaching out to them. Turns out they sent out all decisions on January 26th (7 admitted, 15 on the waitlist). I reached out yesterday and was told I got rejected but for some reason they missed my email.
  4. Hi, any updates? I have also noticied multiple rejections on Jan 26th but haven't received any news yet myself... I wonder if this means we are still being considered) My applications this year are (from top to last choice): 1. USC (saw acceptances on 16.02 so I am assuming I got rejected) 2. UMass (saw rejections on 26.01 so I am assuming I still have a chance) 3. University of Michigan (saw acceptances on 14.02 so I am assuming I got rejected) 4. Cornell (rejection) 5. University of Minnesota (rejection)
  5. Does anyone know if there is a thread for 2024?
  6. Hey everyone, unfortunately I got rejected from all 5 unis. Decided to take a job promotion which will keep me busy another couple of years, and build up research experience, maybe do independent research in the meantime. Wish everyone who got accepted has a great time with their PhD!
  7. Yeah, I think if I wasn't so in love with its Annenberg school, I would notice that more. But all throughout the process I wasn't paying attention to how unreachable they are until I literally didn't get my decision letter.
  8. Thank you again for this rec. I chose to email the depratment and while they haven't gotten back to me, their automatic response mentioned that all PhD letters are out. It seems there is a glitch for me on the portal then, since I neither have the decision letter, nor have I been notified about it.
  9. Yeah, thank you, I am checking that twice a day every day, in case they accidentally do not send me a notification about posting my decision.
  10. I did a while back and still no response.
  11. I am so anxious and confused. Aceptances, waitlists AND rejections for USC are now out, but I got nothing. What does this mean(
  12. I am in the same position with USC, where it seems I am rejected because acceptances and waitlists have been informed already. However, one of the reasons rejections dont come in at the same time is that if most of the people they picked (accepted and waitlisted) end up choosing other places, they still need to consider other applicants. It is too risky for them to reject everyone, as they might end up enrolling too few students. I am simply counting on this in hopes USC might accept me later, even if its a fools hope, haha.
  13. Same for USC, pretty bummed about all the acceptances. Hoping I am somewhere on the waitlist, and top candidates go on to choose other better options for themselves. With decision date as early Feb, I honestly thought I would get this letter first. But at this point I was rejected from 3 unis and am losing hope for USC (my top choice). I wish you luck with all your apps!
  14. Update: got an official rejection now. And seeing more USC acceptances pop up on here, seems like I am not getting one either, or might be waitlisted for future rounds of acceptances. Still nothing from Syracuse. Anxiety at an all time high.
  15. So I found this today, which means unofficially I am now rejected from 3 unis. Starting to lose hope here. Fingers crossed for USC and Syracuse. If anyone who applied to these has a decision, please let me know. I would love any info you can offer. Thank you!
  16. I think at this point it is safe to contact them directly, maybe even make a call and be honest about your situation. They will not hurt your chances of going to another university by holding out on the answer. Either you will be rejected and know for sure you can accept the other offer, or you might get an acceptance on the spot (I think I read in some places where this happened upon contacting the program). Good luck!
  17. Thank you for offering help! If I do not get accepted this year, I will try again next year or maybe in 2024, and will have a look at Canada too. Wish I found Grad Cafe during application process and not now, haha.
  18. I have started checking my application portals like twice a day. Which is very dumb, since I’m like half a day ahead of the US, so all my decisions will be coming at night for me anyway. Also the reason I’m getting restless sleep and checking emails when I wake up at night, haha. Seems like there aren’t many people here who have applied to the same programs as me. So I had a question for you all. Did you all apply to fully-funded programs only, or did you consider others too? I had to pick top unis because of the funding. Maybe next year I’ll consider more of them. Any recommendations on good universities with a fully funded PhD program?
  19. Seems like USC is behind on their decisions. Promised early February but here we are. It is my top choice and I thought it’ll be my first letter too. But I already got two rejections (UPenn and Stanford). I feel like if I don’t get into USC, it’s unlikely I’ll get into others (Syracuse and NYU), as USC was the best fit for my topic.
  20. Hey, just something to cheer you up: UPenn sent a bunch of rejections a week ago (including mine), so if you didn’t get one yet, I’d say they might still be considering you for the spot. Or at the very least holding you as backup to their first acceptances.
