Hi, any updates? I have also noticied multiple rejections on Jan 26th but haven't received any news yet myself... I wonder if this means we are still being considered) My applications this year are (from top to last choice): 1. USC (saw acceptances on 16.02 so I am assuming I got rejected) 2. UMass (saw rejections on 26.01 so I am assuming I still have a chance) 3. University of Michigan (saw acceptances on 14.02 so I am assuming I got rejected) 4. Cornell (rejection) 5. University of Minnesota (rejection)

I am in the same position with USC, where it seems I am rejected because acceptances and waitlists have been informed already. However, one of the reasons rejections dont come in at the same time is that if most of the people they picked (accepted and waitlisted) end up choosing other places, they still need to consider other applicants. It is too risky for them to reject everyone, as they might end up enrolling too few students. I am simply counting on this in hopes USC might accept me later, even if its a fools hope, haha.

Same for USC, pretty bummed about all the acceptances. Hoping I am somewhere on the waitlist, and top candidates go on to choose other better options for themselves. With decision date as early Feb, I honestly thought I would get this letter first. But at this point I was rejected from 3 unis and am losing hope for USC (my top choice). I wish you luck with all your apps!

I think at this point it is safe to contact them directly, maybe even make a call and be honest about your situation. They will not hurt your chances of going to another university by holding out on the answer. Either you will be rejected and know for sure you can accept the other offer, or you might get an acceptance on the spot (I think I read in some places where this happened upon contacting the program). Good luck!

I have started checking my application portals like twice a day. Which is very dumb, since I’m like half a day ahead of the US, so all my decisions will be coming at night for me anyway. Also the reason I’m getting restless sleep and checking emails when I wake up at night, haha. Seems like there aren’t many people here who have applied to the same programs as me. So I had a question for you all. Did you all apply to fully-funded programs only, or did you consider others too? I had to pick top unis because of the funding. Maybe next year I’ll consider more of them. Any recommendations on good universities with a fully funded PhD program?

Seems like USC is behind on their decisions. Promised early February but here we are. It is my top choice and I thought it’ll be my first letter too. But I already got two rejections (UPenn and Stanford). I feel like if I don’t get into USC, it’s unlikely I’ll get into others (Syracuse and NYU), as USC was the best fit for my topic.
