Anyone have any info on FIU or FAU that might help inform my decision? I have identical offers from both, and I’m obviously doing my own research, but I figured it can’t hurt to reach out to all you wonderful people. FIU would be an hour and a half commute (one way), but it seems like the program with more successful recent grads (e.g. Patricia Engel, Jonathan Escoffery). Do we think ultimately it doesn’t make much difference, and it’s on the student/writer to make their experience? Both programs have faculty who are “up my alley.” Any thoughts are deeply appreciated.

Hi all, and good luck to everyone still waiting. I was lucky enough to get offers from FIU and McNeese State over the last few days (by email), and while I’m extremely grateful for and interested in both offers, I’m not ready to commit to either. Any advice on how to say that? Is it fine to say it that bluntly? I just don’t want to deflate the excitement of the acceptances. Also, has anyone else been accepted to either of these programs? Does anyone have any notes about either program?

Has anyone heard from UT New Writer’s Project (fiction)? My rejection shows for The Michener Center, but the other portal reads “in review.” Also, I’ve seen people post rejections from FSU, but has anyone gotten or seen anything about acceptances? Could there be staggered rejections? Or is the fact that I’ve heard nothing from FSU a good sign? This is my first application cycle, and I’d appreciate any shared knowledge. Also waiting on UF, FAU, FIU, Hollins, UNC Greensboro, and McNeese St. Thank you all for such helpful contributions here.
