I am also enrolling in a master's program to study history and in the future I dream of becoming a graduate student for a doctoral degree. It confuses me a little that graduate students do all the boring work instead of their supervisors and do not often do research. But I think otherwise getting a doctoral degree is not something to learn, although it is not so interesting.
