  1. Hi Everyone! I plan on applying to SLP programs in the fall of 2026. I am an ON resident and was wondering if there is any point applying to UBC. Has any from Ontario or out of province been admitted to UBC. It seems they reserve most seats for in province applicants and if I'm understanding the application requirements correctly it seems applicants also need to take online UBC courses AUDI 402 and 403. I would love to apply to UBC but only if I had a realistic chance of being admitted.
  2. Hi- I'm an undergraduate in second year looking ahead to apply to SLP. This forum has been super helpful for me looking ahead. For those that were successful in the admissions process - congrats! If you have any tips and advice, please DM me. I have taken many prerequisites and I'm aware of the high sub GPA requirements which I think I can meet. I was wondering what a successful SOI looks like and was looking for tips in general since these programs appear to be super competitive. What do you think set you apart? I have relevant research experience lined up for the summer so I'm pretty excited about that !
  3. Hi. I am only in second year undergrad but thinking ahead to prepare for applying to SLP programs. For the Academic Letters of Reference I understand that they want someone that can speak to your academic abilities. Would this include a professor that you did research work for but did not take a course with. I would think this is ok because research work is academic. However, I thought I once heard or read that reference needs to be someone that you took a uni course with. The UofT website just says that it needs to be a full-time faculty member.
