  1. Hello all, I have been scouring the forum for insight into PhD program competitiveness. I would really appreciate feedback around my profile for being admitted to an I/O PhD in the US. I am focusing on programs with occupational health psychology components/faculty with research interests around OHP. I will be applying as a non-traditional, international student. I am applying to a mixture of top/mid-tier programs. Age: 38. Background: Health and social care in the UK. I have held roles in medical administration, case management for department for work and pensions, a HR centric role focused on advising individuals who employ personal care staff (I completed recruitment, payroll, mediation, investigations, redundancy processes/claims and terminations). More recently I have worked in a clinical role for past 3 years completing psychological assessments and providing CBT based interventions for stress, anxiety and depression, I have also designed and delivered wellbeing courses. Undergrad: 2015 - BA (Hons) Psychological Studies (First Class - equivalent to 4.0 and gradated top 5 in class). Completed undergrad dissertation, which was an independent project around moral decision making. Grad: Currently studying MSc Psychology as been out of academia since 2015 and I/O programs of any quality in UK require a BPS Graduate basis for chartered membership, which I didn't get through my undergrad. Will be completing IO focused thesis. Not taken GRE and may not do this, as most of the programs I am applying to do not require it. It is difficult to find research posts in the UK, as most require you to already hold an MS. I am hoping a voluntary post opens up in my current program, however this is rare. I have a lot of valuable work experience to draw from and therefore transferrable skills. I intend to highlight my emotional maturity, and experience in managing demanding workloads/working to deadlines in my SOP. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. Any advice/feedback would be appreciated.
