Lost in transition

Thanks for your advice...for now, I just want to be accepted by any programs!

OK. I'm dinged by all the programs I eagerly wanted to get in, and the last doctoral program left for me is UMSL. There is one prof who has research interest perfectly fits to mine and showed interest in my SOP...I know UMSL is not TT program, but there are several tenured profs who got their PhD from the institution in the academia of my own country. What do you Americans think about the school? Have any ideas on,say, the academic atmosphere or something like that?

I applied to School of Public Affairs program. I decided to pursue another MA for i grew interested in gender politics in which my current program could not train me. Also my MA is from non-US institution..so having American MA could be more helpful to making it in doctoral program admission. Also..I found out just stating interest alone is not enough to convince adcomm..it would be better to have some solid outcome or proof of your having interest in some topic like paper or degree regarding to the field of your interest..Anyway for me it would be better to be accepted in doc program this fall rather than detour with anoter MA.

I applied to MA in poli sci(though I have already one) and hope to proceed to doctoral programs once I get MA...if all my phd app fail this season. I applied to it first, its location would be benefitial for getting some work experience and second, there are several profs specialized in gender politocs which I am interested in.

My friend called to UF and was notified admission by phone.

In my last night's dream, I had a gun shot by an unknown man. According to online dream dictionary, this is auspicious.....haha I want to be a little bit positive though I don't buy it seriously.

I cannot agree more..i applied to only six and already two rejects. I'm seriously preparing for my "plan B".

Ooooooh, this waiting is so distracting and unpleasant!! What's going on with ND? What's going on with my Yale app?Should I reapp for 2012?? It drives me crazy. I have a test tomorrow, and hope I won't get another reject from my job seeking today.

OSU and Notre Dame are still silent... ok. i would be a bit more patient.

Are international applicants and 'domestic' applicants --an airport classification- reviewed and offered acceptance at the same time? or are they subject to different procedures? why i haven't heard about anything from any schools i applied to? OTL

I got B+in my master's program and was despondent..i had hard vacation. but what's the point of regretting and even crying if the grade is irreversible? so i just took six more credits than my department requires to take before graduation..it somehow ameliorates my low GPA.
