  1. Heyy! I was confused about the same thing before! So from what I know they take our full semesters starting from the most recent. Then if you have leftover credits like 2.0 credits, they take the average of that whole year weighted at that amount of credits. I'm not sure if that makes sense. When I called ORPAS they told me that those leftover credits can't be counted by term and that they would take the average of that whole year ( for example your whole 2nd year instead of 2b term). But I would say, if you are confused about your specific circumstance, call ORPAS, they were super helpful to me!
  2. Hey everyone! Does anyone know if western's CV has any page limits? How long should it idealy be?
  3. Hi! Thank you for responding! That makes a lot of sense. I didn't really win any awards or anything, just had a decent GPA, so guess that's the only thing I can say is an academic achievement. I will definitely emphasize my non-academic achievements. Appreciate it!!
  4. Hey everyone just working on my personal statement! Wanted to know what falls under academic achievement and non-academic achievement. Does academic achievement include working as an RA? and does non-academic achievement include a volunteer experience I am proud of?
  5. Hey everyone! Is anyone applying to McGill and doing their casper soon? Doing mine October 16th and feeling kind of nervous.
  6. Hi everyone! I was just wondering how the letters of recommendation work for Ontario grad schools. Do we have to provide the reference name/email on orpas and they reach out to them? Or do I have to actually ask the prof to write me a recommendation letter then upload the actual letter on Orpas. Its my first time applying so sorry for the dumb question lol. Also any tips on how to approach profs for reference letters?
  7. Congratulations! This is such a big decision but that is a huge achievement - getting into all 3 schools!! I’m applying next year and was wondering if you were comfortable sharing your gpa and other extra curriculars that you think helped you get accepted?
  8. Hii! Congratulations, this is such a huge achievement and you should be very proud of yourself I am applying next year so I was just wondering if you would feel comfortable sharing your gpa and other extracurricular that you think helped getting your acceptance?
  9. Hii!! I was just wondering what other schools you applied to with what sgpa. Also what kind of experiences did you have and what do you think helped your chance of getting accepted? Sorry if that was a lot of questions!
  10. OHHH, this makes sense. thank you for clearing that up. yikes my second year grades were not the greatest, if i were to take extra courses (lets say 5 to cover the first semester) they wouldnt count my second year first sem? Also if you're comfortable answering how did you find the application process last year, anything you learned, what you're doing different ect.
  11. Hi everyone!! Have been a long time lurker of these forums but finally decided to make a post. I'm planning to apply next fall and I'm so nervous!! I was just wondering if anyone knows about how they calculate the sgpa. Like since we apply at the end of the fall semester, do the schools only the our first semester of the fourth year of undergrad and consider our second semester of 2nd year since they look at 20 courses. Sorry if I worded that poorly, but I'm just wondering if grad schools consider fourth year second semester grades?
