Congrats to those who got the third-round interview! I didn't hear anything from Princeton, so guess I'm rejected😢 (Kinda expected though..) I also applied to Chicago, Cornell, UC Irvine, UPenn, and UC Santa Barbara but haven't heard anything yet. Just want to know whether they usually have interviews or not. Anyway, good luck to those who received the interview invitation!
Hello! I applied to USC, UT Austin, UIUC, Wisconsin, UMASS, Brown, NYU, UCSD, and several other schools. It seems like the thread is really quiet this year. I'm just wondering if there's anyone who has received an interview invitation. I don't know whether the Communication program usually conducts interviews or not...
Hello, has anyone heard anything back from Stanford?
I applied to PhD program and would like to know if they already sent out the interview invitations.
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to apply to Ph.D. programs this winter, mostly in East Asian studies and some in communication/media studies.
I'm curious about the importance of reaching out to professors at this stage. I've heard that the practice of contacting professors varies by field, and I'm wondering whether it's a common practice in EALC or the field of communication.
Is it necessary to contact faculty of interest before submitting the application?
Thank you!
