Thank you so much everyone. I am just a sophomore right now so I don't have a specialty or anything. I know research is important and I keep trying to get involved but I don't know how to get how to get started?? I'm at UT austin right now so I guess I shouldn't go here for my MS also, but Colorado school of mines sounds awesome!

I am just a humble geology undergrad but I've heard that an MS is the basic degree necessary to break into the workforce, so I'd like to be prepared for eventually applying to grad school. ----How high of a GPA and GRE does one need to get into a decent school? ----What are some good geology grad schools? ----If I am not looking to go into academia, would it be frowned upon if I did my masters at the same school as my bachelors? cuz I hear my current school has a good program Any and all other geology grad school info would be much appreciated as I am pretty ignorant and google searches have remained fruitless
