Hi guys! I've just received the results from Yale - didn't get in, unfortunately - but I'm not surprised haha congratulations to those who got in!!

Yeah, apparently they are not releasing the results today lol sorry, I really thought that could happen because I heard from another person that it was likely that they would send the results today, but yeah, let's keep waiting

I heard today, in a very informal talk (like, the friend of my friend said that), they might release the results tomorrow for Classics... I'm also waiting (although I'm not at all optimistic haha)

I am going to UT Austin next week - very excited!

Just to let people know that I didn't get into Cornell, unfortunately - they didn't release the results, but I emailed the DGS asking about the timeline and he told me that I didn't get in. Well, that happens hahah good luck for the rest who applied!!

They told me that they hoped to make decisions by the end of January... maybe they might realease it today? Let's hope for it. Anyways, fingers crossed for both of us!

Congrats! In my interview, the professors literally only asked about my writing sample. I kind of mentioned in my application that I consider expanding it to my PhD studies as well, so that might be the reason. But I'd say to re-read your entire application and have a look at the professors recent publications, if possible. Also, try to come up with one or two questions for them - it shows you are interested in their program.

I'm so sorry @canyoudigit, but don't lose hope! There are still other possibilities, so fingers crossed! @Immie I also haven't heard from Yale yet (although I definitely don't have hopes with it). The only ones that I heard were WashU (got in) and UT at Austin (invited to visit the campus). So just to make sure, this visit to campus does not yet mean that I was accepeted into the program, right?

Don't lose hope, maybe they are still working on the shortlist - there's no way to know. And I don't know if they really interview all the candidates that they accept, so you might still have a shot! Good luck, anyways

Thank you! I applied for Classical Philology and Literature. The invitation came from the DGS, actually. The interview was very technical - they basically only asked about my writing sample because I consider expanding it to my PhD studies as well. Three professors interviewed me, and they were all very kind, though also very formal. When I asked, the DGS said that they intend to make decisions by the end of January. Now I'm waiting...
