I have received 1 acceptance and 2 official rejections but all the other schools where people report that they received rejection letters seem to not want to reject me:) nothing in my profiles, no emails wahtsoever...wtf? What's going on especially at NU and ND?

Mine still says submitted without any link in the bottom either....I really want to think that it's a rather good sign but I think it's just the admins taking their sweet time in updating the application status.

Yes, the lady on the phone (i think her name's Pat Kozak) said that they sent all of the acceptance emails and if I didn't receive one, that means I'm out. She also added that there will be a rejection update on the website too but obviously they're not in a hurry to do so. I hope this answers your question.

I tried the Upenn grad coord. every 30 mins until she gave in I guess People are not always at their desk or they just don't feel like answering the phone as they know it's us who's calling

Just called the UPenn polisci dept to ask if all the acceptances have already been out and it was confirmed that I'm unofficially out. So, if you haven't heard from them, you're out. Not pleasant news but wanted to share. I'm on the same boat with other NW people, still no movement in my page....This is such a painful waiting period.

I think that not hearing anything is better since they did not offer any acceptance today either. That means we're still in the running and hopefully will get good news tomorrow or early next week. Stay positive everyone !

everyone's very welcome I've been enjoying the support of this group for a while now and that's the least I can do to contribute. Let's keep fingers crossed for everyone.

my subfield is comparative, how about you? Btw, I just called the dept and talked a very nice lady who said that the committee actually just started to deliberate and the initial acceptance offers were preliminary and only limited to a short list of people. She said to expect news sometime next week. She also advised me 3 times not to panic yet! So, the ones who are already in should be proud of their accomplishments and let's hope that some more of us will get good news from ND.

I sure hope so. I got the fellowship email on monday but no acceptance One of the admits here claimed that s/he received the email so I don't know what kind of conclusion we can draw out of this.

@christe: sincere congrats on your acceptance. I was the one who called you the "annoying person" (which I took back shortly after if you noticed, so please no hard feelings) thinking that it was a fake post on the day of the application deadline. Schools' tendency of informing us about our results sporadically makes me (and I'm sure many others) seriously jumpy good luck to all this week.

OK, I take it back then...I didn't think it'd be possible to get an admission before the deadline. I guess I've become too jumpy given the roller coaster week

some annoying person just posted a Maryland admission... considering their deadline was the 1st, that would have been the fastest admission result in history.

yes, it is me and the email directed me to the application website where the letter was. after the ugly ding from Michigan, it put me in a better mood !
