2025 Canadian SLP Admissions/Prep
slpgal890 replied to tsslp's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I believe most waitlist offers have been going out after April 15. Depending on the school, I would still wait as I've heard some people getting offered a spot from now until May, sometimes even August. It kinda sucks cause we never really know when we'll get off the waitlist, but I wouldn't assume you won't receive one. It's still early! My fingers are crossed for you!! -

Hi! Just curious to anyone who has been waitlisted at Western, has anyone gotten back any responses recently to where they are on the waitlist? Just curious to see how many people I can find are in each third!! Thank you! -

Congrats!!! Can I ask what province you are from and subGPA? -
Theres a decent amount of prereqs needed within the areas of Psych, Linguistics, and Stats for McGill. However, theres no specific undergrad degree required to apply. So I think as long as you take the required courses, you can still apply with your eng degree! I know sometimes having a diverse background can often be a unique aspect to one's application, so as long as you have the required courses and maintain a high GPA, you should be fine! I would also recommend getting volunteer experience within SLP or related areas as this could also strengthen your application. Good luck!

I got 4th quartile! I was super nervous because I didn't have time to finish one video question and didn't finish a few of the written questions as well. -

it should say on their website about this, if not, call or email the numbers on the admissions page. They responded to me pretty quick and are super nice! -

Im pretty sure ive seen some people get into McGill with a 2nd-3rd quartile Casper, so I feel like if your overall app stands out and your GPA is good, you should be good! wishing you the best!! -

honestly im still overthinking my western and uoft statements, compared to the other schools i've applied to, they had the smallest word / character limit. I kept thinking i couldve added more or been more specific but its so hard to keep in within 3000 characters -

Anyone thats applying for Dalhousie, did your references all get their elinks at the same time? One of my references emailed saying they got it but the other said they haven't received anything (checked their junk/spam as well) -

This might be a silly question, but when calculating GPA for Mcgill, do they convert grades first to GPA and then calculate your cGPA like ORPAS, or do they calculate cGPA first and then convert it? -

For anyone that applied to Dalhousie: Do I have to pay for the application before sending the email? Or can I send the email and pay for the application after? I submitted the first part of the application -

Hi! For anyone applying to McGill, is it just me or there is no section to add references?
