  1. Been trying to reply to @QuantumQuill's last question but hitting a moderator approval wall. In case this goes through: yes, I believe you're correct. Additionally, SSHRC wrote back to me and said you don't need to submit a direct deposit form if you're taking up your award at a Canadian institution.
  2. Yes, I believe so. I emailed a while ago asking about direct deposit and just heard back recently: If you will be taking up your award at a Canadian institution you do not need to submit a direct deposit form to SSHRC.

  4. Yep, that's how I'm reading it. Six weeks before Sept is ~July 22.
  5. My initial feeling was more relief than happiness. Now it's a worry that I've forgotten something or missed a deadline or haven't read a requirement clearly . . . and then *poof*
  6. My understanding is that the instalment form shouldn't be uploaded until 6 weeks before the start date of your award; so if you're starting in Sept 2024 (or Jan 2025), I don't think you need to upload that now.
  7. I deferred my start date from May to September (then later discovered that my institution actually requires us to start major awards like SSHRC in September).
  8. Same. I accepted mine and changed my start date from May to September. Got emails from SSHRC acknowledging both. Have yet to send an email to them about the upload function not working.
  9. I did; it took them less than two full business days to acknowledge receipt of my acceptance and to tell me my request to defer was being passed to a SSHRC officer. Hopefully you’ll hear back from them soon.
  10. Does anyone know if deferring the start of the award from May to Sept is as simple as sending an email to the address SSHRC provides? (I’m expecting replies from their end to take a while given the volume of messages they’re likely receiving.)
  11. Congratulations!! Per multiple profs & colleagues who’ve won the SSHRC in previous years, I’m quite certain you can change your research project to anything you want with no bearing on your award.
  12. Thanks! I'm not at home right now, but my score was somewhere in the 10.5s—can't remember exactly and didn't want to wait to reply since I'm likely to forget (ETA: 4F)
  13. Got SSHRC CGS-D committee 4. My heart goes out to everyone who didn’t get the result they hoped for (& undoubtedly deserve). I wish we were all celebrating together 😕
