Hello! I was waitlisted for York's advanced standing MSW program. I then got the call that I had been accepted into the program yesterday morning! This is an affirmation to all the folks who maybe do not think their application is as competitive as others, y'all can do it too!!! I have just under two years of front-line case management experience with men in the justice system & the same length of relief shelter work. 3.6 overall GPA but more like 3.8-3.9 in the last two years of my undergrad. Do not have a lot of recent volunteer work/experience besides a workplace committee. I recall not even applying last year because I did not think I had a chance, so this is a reminder to not count yourself out without giving it a shot! (I was also waitlisted for a second time by U of T, and rejected for a second time by TMU; I will be accepting my offer to York)
