I am actually a bit confused about these figures. Like you I started in May and got 10k already in my bank. Why does my letter from SSHRC say that I have around $113,333 left to disburse?

Where are we supposed to hear from? An official news release? An email?

When are we expected to hear about whether we will get 40k or 30k in November? I don't understand why it is taking this long to figure out!

It is frustrating how slowly everything goes!

A couple of questions about the forms, particularly the Payee and Direct Deposit Enrolment Form. They ask for your reference number - what reference number? On the right hand side, they ask for a 'PRI' and a 'BN (CDN)' which I guess refers to Canadian bank number, i.e. the institution number? For those of you not in Canada, did you choose to convert your currency to another bank account? I'm wondering if the gov't takes care of all the conversion fees and everything that is usually associated with converting currency.

I decided to let them know I accept now and wait till 20 May or so to see if anything happens. If not, I'll just start filling out the forms and such.

Yes that's what I read too. I just wanted to clarify if they meant we should just provide a scan.

I can't remember where I saw it, but for providing evidence we are Canadian citizens, do we just send in scans of our passport/birth certificate? The guide just said we provide a copy but didn't specifically say how.

Hopefully we all get news before the 24th then!

Do you know when the last chance to change your start date is? I'm thinking of doing the same.

If you don't need the money immediately, wouldn't it be better to defer the start date?

I remember when it first came out I think I was able to upload and then when I checked yesterday I couldn't. Did you accept your award yet?

Thanks. I mean the very next day I did receive like a response (not from a human I think) saying, 'A folder has been created for the award management of your SSHRC Doctoral Awards'. But nothing saying anything like 'We have confirmed your decision to accept etc. etc.' despite me asking for an acknowledgement of the receipt of my email. I'll see if anything happens on Monday and if not I'll send a follow up.

This is the right email right: fellowships@sshrc-crsh.gc.ca I asked them to acknowledge the receipt of the email I sent saying I accept the award but the following day I just got an email saying 'A folder has been created for the award management of your SSHRC Doctoral Awards...'
