I am planning to apply to top PHD and MS programs in Statistics and I would want a reality check:
School: Mid tier state school ranked 30-50 in US, 3.96/4.00 GPA, double major in Stats and Math
Courswork: 1 year of Real Analysis(All A's), 1 year of Math Stats (All A's), Probability Theory(A+), 2 Measure Theoretic grad Probability classes (opted to Pass, and A-) Stochastic Processes(A+), Time Series(A-), Linear Algebra(A), Game Theory(A), Regression Analysis(A), Statistical Theory(A), Other various Data Analysis coures (A's)
Research: I did some research at Bio Lab but not a lot materialized, and didn't have the position for long
Worked as a stats/math/cs tutor
I understand my research is weak for someone applying for a PHD but I want to genuinely want to know what are my odds for getting into a T10 PHD program or would it be better if I apply to a Master's program first and evaluate my options first?
