  1. Hi! Has anyone heard from Boston University's PhD in Emerging Media Studies program or UCLA's phd in comms?
  2. Me too 😭 For some reason, many comms programs take FOREVER to get back. I’m two rejections in and radio silence from the other seven. But keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. We got this!! I truly believe it.
  3. Hi! How is everyone holding up? I’m feeling a little despondent if I’m being honest. I haven’t heard about interviews (most of the schools I’ve applied to don’t require them but from the few that that do, it’s been crickets 🥲). And after a long break of hearing nothing, got a rejection from Stanford. Not too bummed about it, wasn’t my top choice or an exact fit, and was more so a reach school to see I could get in but still scared and wondering if this is the first of many no’s to come. But reminding myself it will only takes one yes to change your life! Wishing the very best to everyone on this forum! May we all get into our dream programs!
  4. Good luck to everyone, hope we all get into our dream programs! Just curious, did you all connect with professors with the universities you were interested in or are you waiting until you get in? With comms PhDs, it's not as clean-cut because many programs don't require a commitment by a professor, but then many recommend you do since it's good for professors to know more about your research interests and whether you're a good fit for a program.
  5. Great schools! I have applied to USC as well. Most of the schools I have applied to say decisions come in anytime between late Jan to late March, so a little nerve-racking waiting for results.
  6. Hello! Thanks for creating this forum, it was much needed. I'm feeling a little nervous, googling the odds of each school and the likelihood of getting into a PhD program isn't helping haha. I'm applying to 9 schools, some in the California area, some on the East Coast. It's my first time applying to a PhD program, I have a masters and am currently working professionally before I transition into a PhD program next Fall. How about you all?
