I intend to eventually do a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning. Ideally I would like to do my PhD at Berkeley, so would be reapplying a year into my Masters.
My question is: If I have the option to go to Georgia Tech for a Masters or get a Masters at MIT Media Labs in lab that is software-focused, which should I choose so that I will have the best chance of getting into a PhD program at a top-ranking AI/ML department like Berkeley's?
On the one hand, MIT is MIT. But the Media Labs are more design-focused and are a less traditional CS Masters than what I would find at Georgia Tech.
I'd be very grateful for any advice or points I haven't considered.
