  1. I am also in a similar position as I received one offer about which I have question marks. But I am also worried about whether my professors would write letters of Recommendation etc. and to what extent I would be able to submit a better application file.
  2. I agree, Brown is way better compared to many Political Science Departments whose rankings are higher than Brown.
  3. For those who didn't receive any offer yet or received from the schools that they don't want to prefer, do you plan to reapply next year; what are your possible options? I hope you would hear good news in next weeks so that no one would feel the need to reapply.
  4. Hi everyone, I hope your application cycle goes well and I hope that you would hear good news from the remaining schools. I have one question which was asked by my friends in my home country about his potential chances; she wants to apply for mid tier PhD programs in the US; she is currently in a relatively known MA program but her GPA is 3.70 due to her health-related problems during the MA programs; even if she has pretty good GRE Scores and good quantitative methods training with several Methods courses; ICPSR etc. She asked me whether this GPA would make less advantegous in PhD applications but I couldn't be sure about that. What do you think; especially based on your observations?
  5. Is there anyone here who had received admission from George Washington University? If yes; asking for curiosity, is there any information about how many applications they received this year and how many applicants did they admit for Comparative politics?
  6. Yes, especially for international students; GRE Exams are a bit expensive as there are no possibility of fee waivership.
  7. I completely agree; the professors who are on the admission committees significantly matter. But still can't understand how an applicant with such a low GRE Scores can be admitted. I admit that GRE Scores don't represent a good indicator but for me; it is a bit unfair towards other applicants to admit an applicant with so low GRE Scores. I took this exam twice times in order to increase my Scores, for instance.
  8. Just saw one post from an applicant who has received offer from Yale Political Science Phd program; with GRE Scores 156Q, 159 V; quite low Scores as the applicant stated. This really surprised me; really don't understand and probably would never understand how admission committees -especially in the top Phd programs - make their decisions 😕
  9. Did you send them email? I don't know why but Georgetown is one of the programs which is quite late in responding to the applicants 😕
  10. Very high number. Do you know how many students Cornell admitted?
  11. Hi, I hope you are fine. For those who applied to American University - both SPA and SIS- I asked professors at both Departments and they told me that the each departments admitted 10 students at the initial stage but they didn't give information about how many students have been waitlisted.
  12. Anyone who applied to more than 10 programs but still waits acceptances? I have been waitlisted at three schools but couldn't get any acceptance yet; I wonder whether this is due to the fact I applied while already being enrolled at a PhD program 😕
  13. But many universities still continued their usual schedule today; hopefully we can hear positive news tomorrow
  14. I didn't apply to UT Austin but I know one applicant who has been waitlisted for UT; CP subfield.
  15. Hi everyone! I think it was being discussed here before but does anyone know how many students Northwestern admitted for PhD this year, especially for Comparative politics subfield?
