congrats on the waitlist !! hoping your other schools work out for you!
i am kinda sorta in the same boat -- i graduated may '24 at 21 so i am still very much 22 and still very much worried about being perceived as too young/inexperienced/etc. i am hoping they at least acknowledge the year's gap, which i took to really flesh out my work/save money, but i am kicking myself in not mentioning how i am spending it in my sop/personal statements (mostly just talked about my writerly interests/why i write/what i hope to do, which is to become a teacher/professor ultimately) / my favorite schools didn't require a CV detailing internship/scholarship stuff, so i didn't include mine, and UGH i so wish i did bc they did allow extra documents.
i am really gunning towards finishing school here in the u.s. so i can freely move overseas to my other home country afterwards, so i am really praying for any acceptance this year lol, even though i know there is a practical reason why most schools prefer older candidates/there is a very real possibility i can't compete. im so scared!!
