No. For poli sci, I only applied to two Ivys, and only one of those is T10. The other is in fact ranked lower than the non-Ivy I was accepted to. Additionally, I cannot find evidence that the lower-ranked Ivy accepted/waitlisted anyone for my subfield at all. Perhaps in a different year without the sudden funding worries and seemingly low subfield admission numbers, I may've been accepted into an Ivy. (Moreover, so many programs saw a huge increase in application numbers, which does not help). Or, I simply did not fit as well, was less competitive, my statements did not resonate there, or any other reason. Either way, I feel as though my disclosure was either neutral or slightly positive for my applications overall.

Yes, to a T25 school. A letter writer of mine actually recommended that I mention it in a statement. (Again, it was relevant to my interests/research experience.) I also received a waitlist to a (not poli sci, but similar-ish) program ranked around fourth in the nation. That program only accepted around two people this year. I applied to eight programs in total. I seemingly have fewer qualifications than you, but a similar or slightly higher GPA. Sometimes things are just a crapshoot, even in a normal year. It may also have to do with the strength of the letters I have, or fit, or my statements just did well. Someone involved with decisions later told me they were particularly interested in my research ideas that had to do with my disability, which furthers my belief that it actually strengthened my application.

Yes. I was very upfront with it (in statements, is relevant to my research interests) and it seemingly strengthened my application.

I assume that any package negotiations are generally off the table at this point? (Or rather, more so than usual?)

I'm also waiting on a Yale WGSS combined program, but combined with the American Studies program.

Hmm, I just noticed that my UWI-Madison portal has very recently slightly changed to have "under program review" listed underneath the recent activities sections, not just the fee waiver part that's already been there. However, it's listed as occurring on 12/16 and I still have no acceptance or rejection😅.

To others who have received an acceptance: Has anyone else pretty much (unofficially) settled on where they're going? 😄

Waitlisted at UMN, rejected for Brown, and still waiting fro Yale. However, I also applied to the combo version with WGSS, so I imagine that may affect when I hear my decision.

Not that I'm aware of, in the sense that there's never been a waitlist result posted for the program on here.

That's how I feel about my own situation, however, some people here posted that they got a formal rejection from UW-Madison some time ago, (though they did not post it to the main part of GradCafe,) and therefore I'm concluding we're on some sort of unofficial waitlist.

I'm not in IR, but I'm delusionally hoping I still have a chance, lol.

According to the PhD program statistics on their site, they admitted 19 for 2024.

I am also worried about Northwestern... and Brown too...

Congrats everyone!! I haven't received anything/had any portal changes, but their website specifies that decisions come in waves, so fingers crossed it's not meant in only a "rejections come later" way, lol.

Actually, I wanted a non-AS program also at Brown a little bit more, and in a way all the programs I applied to are sorta dream schools/top choices for differing reasons... Anywho, it's not fun being rejected, but having gotten an acceptance elsewhere I'm sure helped me tremendously

Today I'm hoping for Northwestern acceptances to start coming in, or to see if anyone posts about AP for Brown. Maybe I'll finally get my Wisconsin rejection, haha. I have a Harvard and a (non-poli sci) Yale decision I'll be waiting for too, but that's a ways away yet...

Oh geez, I didn't get an acceptance or waitlist, so I'm assuming I have a rejection coming eventually.

Going nuts... no posts about Brown for AP.. no posts for Northwestern, and I've gotten no acceptance OR rejection OR interview from U-Wisconsin...

We now have Brown acceptance posts for CP, IR, and PT.

Hoping AP acceptances just haven't been sent out yet for Brown... (copium lol). Does anyone have any guesses for Northwestern results? It seems pretty late compared to the result dates historically.
