  1. Thanks! I think I will apply again because I do think I am a good fit but was too nervous during the interview. People were right - trying too hard and over preparing will backfire.
  2. Yale rejection. Is it even worth reapplying next year if I interviewed but wasn't waitlisted this year?
  3. Did you get an email? And which discipline?
  4. I interviewed for painting too, and I agree. It felt more like a vibe check whereas I was expecting them to grill me on my art, inspiration, and books I read. They asked me about the galleries as well, although they worded it in a way that felt like they wanted to know if I would prioritize the program and manage my time well.
  5. Right? Maybe they are working through the weekend or interviewed less people than usual. I know @kamlee applied for GD so I will cautiously assume everyone will get their results this week. So far Yale has been reliable with their timing. Q- I submitted new work like they asked but it wasn't brought up at all during the interview. Anyone else?
  6. No way! Awesome if they can really let us know this week. Which discipline? I don't know if different departments put results out on different days.
  7. Does anyone who interviewed for Yale in painting/printmaking want to talk about how it went? You can DM me if you want to be private.
  8. Last year for Yale the last interview was on Friday Feb 23 and the results came out on Tuesday March 5. That's 11 days in between results. The last interviews are being done today at Yale so it is very possible that you won't hear back in time. What's the worst that can happen if you accept Cranbrook and then take back your commitment? It's on them for not being in line with the norm tbh...
  9. Wow, congrats! I haven't seen anyone get this many acceptances before, you should start some kind of MFA prep course. And congrats to everyone else for getting in, it's really encouraging. It's good to hear that others felt they didn't do so well on the interviews but got in despite that.
  10. People who are waiting to hear back after interviewing, how do you think the interviews went? I couldn't tell one way or another with these interviewers, they all had on their poker faces. I always heard that if you have a tough time during interviews then that actually might be good sign. I definitely don't feel like I have it in the bag. I also wonder if anyone knows how important the interviews are? I know the work is the absolute most important thing but I wonder how much more they can clean from a short 20 minute interview.
  11. I'm interviewing for painting, did you have to submit your supplemental work beforehand? I had to submit a week before my interview which was a bit of a bummer because if I had a few more days I could have submitted even more new work. Oh well.
  12. I agree, if I had recent work that I thought was good enough to show, I would've included it in the portfolio! But luckily Hunter asked for less work in the initial portfolio than some of my other schools, so I do have work to submit. It just feels like going a step back by showing older work, but nothing we can do about it at this point. Good luck to you too!
  13. Same I'm nervous. I am trying to finish some pieces so that I can show new work but I'm probably going to have to show a mix of new and old. What about you?
  14. One thing I did to prepare is look at current and recent MFA students' websites of programs you're interested in and see what work they were making in the time period that they would have applied. I also read their bios/artist statements and found commonalities in how they talked about their work and what kind of work they were making. I would like to stay anonymous so I cannot share my own work, sorry.
  15. Interesting, I have some programs that want me to bring images of work that I didn't include in the portfolio. I think I can include recent work that I made in 2024, but I've been making new work because if I didn't think my existing work was good enough to include in my portfolio, I don't want to show it to them now. I agree with the other poster who said that this process was much more consuming and stressful than they originally thought. I can't wait for March.
