Got accepted to Parson's D+T, they offered a little less scholarship than RISD so it's looking like RISD is my best bet this fall. That's a wrap!

Randomly checked my UCLA application portal and got my rejection letter without notification (applied to DMA, interviewed over a month ago)

@mmav personally I would probably go with UW, having a cohort of people who are doing similar things was really important for me applying to these types of programs. I applied to a small interdisciplinary program that's geared towards individual development (not much collaborative work) and didn't realize how important a cohort was to me until the interview. Also, take with a grain of salt but from what I've seen Seattle seems like a good place for new media/art and tech work specifically. Maybe not an artist hub like LA but might be better for establishing a niche.

I first emailed the financial aid department and was told to contact my program director and the director of financial services. They were very helpful and told me to explain my situation in detail; so things like how much would I be bringing in savings, any incoming debt, etc. I think it's very important to have a specific number you are after and outline competing offers. Personally there's only so much debt I'm willing to take on based on the monthly payment I would have after graduating, so I've been using that to guide my steps forward.

Anyone else considering RISD but not sure yet? RISD was my top choice and I got 50% tuition coverage, it'll be very tough financially for a couple of years but I think its possible. Only other programs I'm waiting for are UCLA DMA and parsons

Got into RISD D+M!

I applied to digital media! Haven't seen a lot of people who applied to this program. They told me I would hear back early March, but seeing unofficial acceptances go out for other departments has made me super anxious to hear back lol.

I'm still waiting to hear back from two schools after interviews, and after getting one waitlist and one acceptance, I feel they don't have a huge impact in the overall application, or at least not in the way we think they do. I thought I did the worst in both of the interviews I heard back from, but was pleasantly surprised with the results. I think its more likely that they have a positive impact on the application than negative, at least compared to how we perceived it.

Got accepted to SAIC Art and Technology/Sound Practices! Don't think I received any scholarships so I won't be attending, but still neat

ASU is releasing decisions! I was notified that I'm on their waitlist

I hope you get in!!! I feel a waitlist is likely in my cards at my top choice as well but fingers crossed for us both 🤞

Curious how people are feeling/coping post interviews. I've done 3 so far and while I haven't bombed yet I've definitely stumbled a lot. Trying not to ruminate too much but I'm waiting until March for final decisions... I might go a little crazy!

It definitely sucks when you work hard on the application and you're emotionally invested in a specific program. I'm also preparing for potential rejection/wait-list since I don't have much experience or an impressive background. All we can do is try our best and hope that they see our efforts, but you still worked hard regardless
